According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, More and more pets are suffering from obesity. The latest data from just last year in 2018 reveals over half the nation's dogs, nearly 56% are overweight or obese. That equals an estimated 50 million dogs that are at risk for weight-related disorders. And the numbers are rising every year!

Obesity is considered the most common preventable disease in dogs in north America and one in four dogs is considered obese. It's becoming a real issue and causing a lot of different health issues.

Today I am thrilled to have with me Dr. Mac Griffin. He is a graduate of the Colorado State University Veterinary Program and has practiced veterinary medicine for over 30 years. Dr. Griffin served in multiple positions with the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and has sat on several advisory boards for animal rescue groups. He has been an owner of two separate private practices and is currently the Medical Director of Pets On Broadway Veterinary Hospital in Denver Colorado.
