Submit ReviewHaving a toddler is one of the most exciting phases of being a parent. It’s also one of the most demanding. They need you all the time, they’re also learning and growing all the time. It’s why the wisdom and support of ‘the village’ is crucial in the pre-school years.
That’s where How To Build A Human comes in. Over 8 weeks, join Leigh Campbell as she speaks to some of Australia’s best-known parents and our resident parenting expert Gen Muir, to work out the perfect ingredients it takes to raise a well-rounded child - ready for their big future.

Submit ReviewWhen we’re talking about raising a human, it all seems to lead back to connection.
This is why, for our final episode, Leigh is talking to the woman who knows all about it, and has been giving us the best parenting advice all season.
Gen Muir is a parent educator, the mum of four boys, and the founder of Connected Parenting. And today, I really want to pick her brains all about why connection is so important for everything we teach our kids….

Independence and toddlers are two words that don’t really go hand in hand.
But nurturing an independent spirit for our toddlers in terms of play, creativity, and awareness of the world around them is super important.
So how do we do it?
On this episode, Leigh is joined by the founder and director of the financial media platform, SugarMamma.TV, author and mum of three Canna Campbell to discuss how to raise independent kids, and no, it's not as tricky as it sounds.

In 2011 Turia was running an ultramarathon in the Western Australian outback when she got caught in a grass fire. She suffered burns to 70% of her body - she had to learn to walk again and learn to live in a new reality. Now not only does she host her very own podcast, but she’s also the mum to two little boys, runs ultra-marathons, writes books, and wears a lot of hats. This is why today on the show she’s joining Leigh to talk about how she’s instilling resilience into her toddlers and how we can do the same.
