And here to share more about this super important topic is Dr. Brook Niemiec, who is a graduate of the University of California, Davis. He is a Diplomate of the American and European Veterinary Dental College as well as a Fellow in the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Niemiec is also the Chief of Staff of Veterinary Dental Specialties and Oral Surgery with offices throughout Southern California, as well as Las Vegas and New Orleans.

Periodontal (gum) disease is THE most common problem in dogs and cats. It causes numerous local and systemic complications include heart and kidney problems as well as jaw fractures and nasal infection.
