Submit ReviewWe welcome you back to Talking Apes with a BANG and the Planet of the Apes 50th Anniversary! We hope everyone has had a great summer!
We spent the past few months attending Apes panels and book signings so we could share with you apes here and now.
In this episode, we discuss the Planet of the Apes 50th Anniversary events, screenings and panels held at USC for their Visions and Voices series that ran from February to August. And in case you missed them, we’ll play highlights from these events. To see them in their entirety, scroll to the bottom of these show notes to watch!
We also give our spoiler-free review of the new graphic novel from BOOM! Studios, Planet of the Apes: Visionaries. This original Rod Sterling script was Adapted by comedian/actor/Ape-Fanatic, Dana Gould, and artist Chad Lewis, into a never-before-seen story. See for yourself if this adaptation resembles the original film we all know and love, or the animated Return to the Planet of the Apes with the use of higher tech modes of transportation.
And….. Once again when we have to break a promise. We posted on several Apes FB groups that we were going to review the 2001 Tim Burton film. But after several meetings with ourselves we thought it was too much to cram into one show. We guarantee it is coming!
Now, Go Ape!
