Submit ReviewOn this week’s show, we have the honor of speaking with Sarah Austin Jenness and Thorn Jenness. Sarah is the Executive Producer of The Moth, a global arts organization, dedicated to the art and craft of personal storytelling, and Thorn, her father, who has dedicated his career to Human Resources. They join us to discuss Sarah’s mother and Thorn's wife, Maureen, who passed away after battling an aggressive cancer in 2016. They talk with us about who Maureen was as a wife, mother, educator, and member of the community, as well as her love for cooking. We explore the importance of storytelling as a means to navigate grief and loss, and how new rituals can help to keep those we lost close to us. This was an incredible episode, and we were truly touched by how this family unit dealt with such an unimaginable loss. Please tune into The Moth Radio Hour for incredible personal stories from the people who lived them. The Moth is releasing their first book, How To Tell A Story: The Essential Guide to Memorable Storytelling from The Moth, published by Crown and debuting on April 26, 2022, in honor of The Moth's 25th anniversary year. The pre-sales have begun! Thank you so much to Sarah and Thorn for joint us and sharing your story with us and our listeners.
