We will learn:
How we can master challenges through mindfulness.
Why it’s important to be radically curious about the world.
The top findings for defining and creating happiness for yourself.
We all just want to be happy right?
But what actually contributes to happiness? Do external circumstances ever matter? Or is it always something we cultivate from within? Can external circumstances help us to cultivate it from within?
Thankfully, there has been an ongoing study around this topic for the last 80 years. Harvard’s Study of Adult Development is widely recognized as the world’s longest study on happiness and has provided a ton of information about what factors contribute to a fulfilling and happy life.
So today we’re talking about what was learned from Harvard’s longest study on happiness and how to apply it to our lives.
Our guest is Marc Schulz. He is the associate director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development. He also directs the Data Science Program and previously chaired the psychology department and Clinical Developmental Psychology PhD program at Bryn Mawr. And He is a practicing therapist with postdoctoral training in health and clinical psychology at Harvard Medical School.
He is also the co-author of the book “The Good Life: Lessons From the World’s Longest Scientific Study on Happiness”.
