Mary Jane Vangilder was a 34 year old living alone in Shelby, OH. She was a mother of five and worked at a World War 2 Depot. Around the beginning of April 1945, Mary Jane’s oldest daughter, who lived in WV, started receiving the letters back that she had tried to mail to her mother—Mary Jane had seemingly moved without giving a forwarding address.
