Thank You for Your Service. You’re Fired!
William Toti, US Navy (Retired)
We'd all agree that VETs deserve to be treated with respect and assistance upon their return. But what happens when you give them a job in your efforts to help and then have to say, thank you for your service, we have to fire you?
Our guest for the next two episodes is Captain William Toti, US Navy (Retired). William is the author of, From CO to CEO: A Practical Guide for Transitioning from Military to Industry Leadership, which is turning conventional wisdom about hiring veterans on its head. He says that we need to Stop Saying, "Thank you for your service."
Why? Well, that's what we're going to find out.
William Toti (Retired), was the captain of nuclear submarine USS Indianapolis and commodore of submarine squadron 3. After leaving the Navy and joining the world of business and industry, he eventually spent fifteen years climbing the corporate ladder to become Sparton Corporation's CEO.
