Submit ReviewThe world has long misunderstood trauma. Now, leading experts in the field have a radical new understanding of post-traumatic
stress . . . and a surprising new treatment to reverse it could have profound implications for medicine, mental health, and society.
Despite its prevalence, post-traumatic stress, PTSD, is often seen as an unbeatable lifelong mental disorder. However, top trauma doctors and neuroscientists now understand that the result of trauma is not a disorder but rather a physical injury—and while invisible to the naked eye, the posttraumatic stress injury (PTSI) can now be seen on a scan. Most importantly, the effects of PTSI are reversible.
Meet Dr. Eugene Lipov. His research and partnerships have led to an amazing discovery that all trauma has at its root a single piece of human hardware: the sympathetic nervous system, controlling the fight-or-flight response. Anyone who has endured trauma, including long-term microdoses of emotional stress, can have this injury. Dr. Lipov has pioneered a safe, 15-minute procedure that reverses the injury, relieving mild to extreme symptoms of PTSI—irritability, hypervigilance, anxiety, insomnia, and more—for survivors to combat soldiers to the everyday person.

Guest Dr. Eugene Lipov
Let’s find out together. We are honoured today to have a guest who is on the cutting edge. He is a doctor that you and I are going to be hearing a lot about over the next few years. He is transforming our understanding of trauma and is doing so with the most innovative and quickest procedure of our time. Dr. Eugene Lipov is the extraordinary doctor who has found what seems to be a fairly universal cure for trauma that has zero side effects. Dr. Lipov is a world-renowned board-certified anesthesiologist and medical researcher who is one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma’s effects on the nervous system, the “fight or flight” response, and its effect on the human body. Dr. Lipov has developed an innovative procedure, the stellate ganglion block, aka the SGB, which relieves PTSD patients from suffering from the symptoms of the condition, allowing them to live fuller lives without the pain of overstimulated nervous systems. As the leading expert in his field, Dr. Eugene Lipov’s research earned him an invitation to testify before the U.S. House Committee on Veteran's Affairs in 2010. Dr. Lipov is a rising star! He’s been interviewed on a large number of topics outside his usual expertise of PTSD treatment. In fact, they are presently in negotiations around a book and a movie based on his unique process, The Lipov Procedure for Duel Sympathetic Reset. His patients call him, The Miracle Man.

We all have the essential information required to go from sick to healthy.
So why are we so sick? To start, we trust doctors with our lives and those we love and care about. Yet, medical workers are vastly overworked and often must improve in certain care areas.
For instance, many trust doctors to guide them in nutrition, not realizing that most practicing physicians lack nutrition training. Many doctors complete around 2-4 hours, averaging only 19 hours over four years. In fact, a study published in the journal Academic Medicine found that in the 2008-2009 academic year, just 27% of 105 medical schools met the minimum requirement of 25 hours of teaching on nutrition. However, there is minimal political will to change this dysfunctional system, let alone have the FDA recognize food as medicine. What will happen when this dysfunctional system collapses due to the dichotomy of its lack in most areas and bloating in others?
We will dive into the potential personal and technological solutions facing our aging population in the next two episodes...
Our guest for the next two episodes is Eziah Syed. Eziah is the Co-founder and CEO of Mend Labs, a nutra-pharma and digital wellness company based in New York City. Eziah has spent decades in strategy and innovation for companies such as Deloitte and Citibank and has been at the helm of several tech startups and scaleups.

Is it true that a majority of businesses fail? Multiple studies point to yes. Generally it’s seen that 75% or more, of new business utterly fail.
They did not properly plan to succeed. A piece of paper by itself does not have arms and legs to walk around and do the work. You need something more concrete that will motivate and stimulate you, and your team, to walk around and do the work all by itself.
For 75% or more failed businesses, it is. But now with the Vision Map™, you can propel yourself and your team much easier to success. The map helps you do the work; it’s self-motivating.
It's time for your organization to stop bleeding top talent. You can find out more about working directly with me by going to: http://DovBaron.com .

Remember when the US economically ruled the world?
You may already be pushing back, saying, "we still do". Are you sure about that?
Is the US still the #1 investor or the #1 trading partner worldwide? If you said yes, strap yourself in because you're in for a shock. If it's not the US, who is it, and what does it mean for the rest of the world? That's where we're going for the next two episodes with our guest and returning champion, John Perkins, AKA The Economic Hitman.
In John Perkins's latest book, he states that we are at the beginning of the third wave of Economic Hitmen strategies rolling out across the world. If you think this is some conspiracy theory, consider that this is the work of a man with an intimate insider pass and the highest possible credentials.
John Perkins is an economist, author, and activist. As Chief Economist at a major consulting firm, John was an advisor to the World Bank, UN, IMF, Fortune 500 corporations, and leaders of countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and US government agencies.
His eleven books have been published in more than 35 languages and sold over 2 million copies, including Confessions of an Economic Hitman, Touching the Jaguar, and Shapeshifting was on The New York Times bestseller list for over 70 weeks.
John’s latest book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, 3rd Edition, describes China's economic hitman strategy and the need to transform a failing, degenerative death economy into a regenerative life economy. John Perkins has lectured at more than 50 universities and has been featured on ABC, NBC, CNN, Time, The New York Times, Elle, Der Spiegel, and many others. He became a founder of the non-profits Dream Change and The Pachamama Alliance.
In his latest book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, 3rd Edition, he describes the unforgivable acts he committed as chief economist at a major US consulting firm and the crimes executed by the CIA assets, known as jackals, who stood behind him. John exposes the Economic Hit Men strategy" that took on new and ominous proportions after China entered the fray in the early 2000s. He then offers a plan for converting the resulting failed, degenerative death economy into a regenerative life economy and how we can help make that happen.

Can Listening CRUSH Extremism and Generate Radical Unity?
In what appears to be a profoundly divided world, we must discover the meaningful and profound difference we can make.
Radicalization is real! We can see it across political lines. And for most people, it's something terrible we speak about as a passing news story.
However, what happens when radicalization goes from being on the news to becoming something in your local community or, worse still, something that becomes real within your own family?
It's only when these issues become personal, instead of quickly judging these radicals by whatever disparaging comment we might throw around, we can consider the complexity of the human being. When radicalism makes its way into your community or family, you will find yourself asking, "Why" would anyone go down that road, and what can we do to bring someone locked into what can be very destructive behaviors home?
Well, that's where we’re going with our guest for the next two episodes, Bjørn Ihler.
Over the past decade, Bjørn has been one of the leading voices in the global efforts to counter and prevent the spread of violent extremism that can lead to terrorism.
Through his work, Bjorn has been striving for a more principled approach to counter-terrorism, building a universalist understanding of violent extremism, irrespective of ideology, and rooting his efforts in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and principles of Peacebuilding. Through these approaches, Bjorn has held governments and companies accountable to changing the threat landscape and building safer communities.
Since 2016, he has worked with the group, Extremely Together under the Kofi Annan Foundation. From 2020 to July 2022, Bjorn served as the inaugural chair of the Independent Advisory Committee of the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism. He has worked with and advised local organizations, national governments, private sector companies, and international institutions such as the EU, OSCE, and the UN through his international work.

Becoming a Changemaker
"Someone needs to fix this," is something that, at some point, we've all said. However, it's more challenging to ask ourselves, how can we lead positive change from where we are? We often think of change as a massive and overwhelming thing that only iconic people like Gandhi, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or Martin Luther King Jr can do. But is that true?
Creating change can seem overwhelming; with that overwhelm, it's easy to give in to the status quo. However, what if the change you want to see can be broken down into meaningful, actionable bite-size micro-actions?
That's where we go for the next two episodes with our guest Alex Budak. Alex is a social entrepreneur, a faculty member at Berkeley Haas, and the author of, Becoming a Changemaker.
Alex Budak teaches, speaks, and writes to help people make a positive impact in their lives, career, communities, and society. As a social entrepreneur, he co‐founded StartSomeGood.com; ran Sweden's most prominent social innovation incubator, Reach for Change; and helped Change.org scale globally.
Alex has given presentations on leadership, entrepreneurship, and change-making worldwide, from Cambodia to Ukraine, to the Arctic Circle, to UN Agencies, and to leading companies. He has spoken at the White House on how to create social change.

Part 2: The Massive Upside of Hiring Felons
What can we learn about business and leadership from former gang members? The answer is a lot!
Homeboy Industries. This $30 million not-for-profit organization is the world's largest and most successful gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program.
We all live in a highly competitive, capitalist environment, and as such, we drive toward higher and higher levels of success. Meanwhile, we miss what's going on under our noses; we may not notice our children, marriages, families, and friends drift away.
Sadly, we don't even notice as our humanity drifts away. We are climbing to be on top while failing our society's poor and forgotten people. We create systems that make it impossible to be part of the American dream, particularly if someone has had a dark past. But what can we do?
Our guest for the next two episodes is Thomas Vozzo. Thomas Vozzo left a very lucrative career in corporate America, convinced there had to be a better way to define success. In 2012, Thomas became the first-ever CEO of Homeboy Industries. This $30 million not-for-profit organization is the world's largest and most successful gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program. Thomas is also the author of, The Homeboy Way: A Radical Approach to Business and Life.

Part 2: Tapping Into Your Future Self to 10X Your Life
As we work toward our goals and outcomes, it's not uncommon to believe that "when I get there, it will all be different." However, most people find that achieving the goal is a bit of an anti-climax. Imagine if you could achieve not just your original goal but you could 10X yourself and your goals. What might happen if you took on this heroic journey?
That's where we’re going in the next two episodes. Our guest is Dr. Benjamin Hardy. Dr. Hardy is an organizational psychologist who has become the world's leading expert on the psychology of entrepreneurial leadership and exponential growth.
His Ph.D. research focused on entrepreneurial courage and transformational leadership. Before completing his Ph.D., Dr. Hardy’s blogs were read by over 100 million people. He published his first major book, Willpower Doesn't Work, while running a 7-figure online training business.
Since completing his Ph.D. in 2019, Dr. Hardy has published five additional books, including three co-authored with the legendary entrepreneurial coach, Dan Sullivan. His books have sold hundreds of thousands of copies and he is a sought-after teacher and speaker at corporate and entrepreneurial events at Fortune 500 companies.

Have you ever watched the news or seen something online and thought, "Someone should fix that," and then you went on with your day until the next time that subject showed up?
What happens when that issue that bothers you in the world shows up enough that you realize that you are noticing it because you are the one who could do something about it?
Talking of ongoing workplace issues, how can we end workplace exclusion, boost your business profits, strengthen our communities, and make significant inroads toward social justice with the abundant resources we're ignoring?
Our guest for the next two episodes is Dr. Gil Winch (Ph.D. in Psychology).

Becoming Master of The Emotion-Coaster
Currently, neuroscience is a hot topic. But is it important for you as a leader to understand it? Do you require a Ph.D. in neuroscience to use it? The answer: As a leader, understanding neuroscience is invaluable. Neuroscience can, however, be applied to your leadership without a Ph.D. We live in an age of social media that is a firehose of information; it's easy to feel overwhelmed and shut down by it all. The key is to be able to take in vast amounts of information, filter, and distill it in a manner that makes sense to your people.
Our guest for the next two episodes is Jeff Bloomfield. Jeff is the founder and CEO of BrainTrust. He's the bestselling business author of NeuroSelling® and Story-Based Selling. Jeff specializes in taking the science of decision-making and leveraging it to help us be more effective and impactful in our customer conversations. Jeff has been featured in Sales & Marketing Management Magazine and in Forbes.

The Inclusive Language Handbook
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was murdered by police officers and every company with a brain suddenly realized the Diversity and Inclusion Programs they just cut were needed more than they could imagine. Our guest for the next two episodes is: Jackie Ferguson. Jackie is an award-winning content creator, entrepreneur, author, speaker, and podcast host. She spent the majority of her career across multiple facets of business, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Jackie is co-founder and Head of Content and Programming for The Diversity Movement, an organization that creates stronger business outcomes through strengthening culture and belonging. Jackie hosts the “Diversity: Beyond the Checkbox,” podcast and has been volunteering with and donating to equality organizations for more than two decades. Change at any level can be difficult. However, inside a large organization, it can be more so because for that change to not only take place, but to do so effectively, often means the transition of power, and those who have the power, are not usually in a hurry to give it up.
So, can we implement genuine and meaningful change as a way to confront the Obstructionism of Innovation without creating a cultural civil war? You might be surprised.
Our guest for the next two episodes is Greg Larkin. Greg Larkin is passionate about three things; transforming huge companies, being a good dad, and punk music. He is a global authority on entrepreneurial transformations in large organizations.
Greg is a transformation advisor to Uber, Google, PWC, Booz Allen Hamilton, and other large organizations. He has also served as the Director of Product Innovation at Bloomberg and across the Global 100. He's learned that change that's necessary is never easy and often, surprisingly unauthorized. Greg is also the founder of Punks & Pinstripes, a global coalition of intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs, and punks.
Greg is also the author of the business bestseller (in six countries), This Might Get Me Fired.

Have you wondered what it would take for you to be Bold? Is Boldness something we are born with or can even the least confident among us learn to be Super Bold?

What do The Fear of Rejection, 1 800 DENTIST, and Improv Comedy have in common with learning how to be Bold in any Situation? Do you often look back at events and wish you had been Bolder? Have you wondered what it would take for you to be Bold? Is Boldness something we are born with or can even the least confident among us learn to be Super Bold?
Our guest for the next two episodes is Fred Joyal. Fred founded 1-800-DENTIST with $30,000. Over 25 years, it generated over $1 billion in total revenue. Outside of that tiny accomplishment, he also beat Sir Richard Branson in chess. Fred's latest book, Superbold: from Under-confident to Charismatic in 90 days, is an Amazon and Wall Street Journal bestseller.

What makes us who we are?
Why do some people come out of trauma more loving while others come out more guarded?
Can we genuinely, lastingly change, or is who we are "baked in?"
I'm often asked how a dyslexic kid from a ghetto got to study with masters, become a polymath and serve the world's leading icons.
Although I don't hold back at diving in with my guests, many of you have sent me messages about how you would like to know a lot more about my journey and how I became a top 100 leadership speaker, advisor, and guide to those who lead and guide others.
Some of you wanted to know more about where I grew up and what that environment was like. You wanted to know about the businesses I owned on three continents and how I dealt with not just falling 120 ft off a mountain but how I came back.
For this special bonus episode, I went on The Kelly Cardenas podcast, one of the world's top 1% podcasts. I told Kelly that he had my permission to go anywhere that might serve the audience. And he did. This is an extraordinarily candid conversation.
Before you go any further, you should know this gets pretty raw. Maybe more than you'd expect.
For example, we go into what grief is and why we can't ignore it. I talk about being a recovering adrenaline junky, growing up in poverty, my father abandoning up, and a pedophile rescuing us.
We talk about how children with the same parents can grow up in different families. We talked about how despite what you've been told, love and hate can exist in the same space. And So much more.
I hold nothing back here if you've ever wanted to know the raw version of who Dov Baron is. Please leave me your feedback after listening.
Again, this is a special bonus episode, and you will really enjoy how we pull back the curtain.
A huge thank you to Kelly Cardenas for walking me down this path.
Enjoy.

On November 9, 1989, the Cold War began to thaw with the fall of the Berlin Wall, and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
Then on February 24, 2022, Russia once again invaded Ukraine. Assuming things would go the same way it did in February and March 2014, when Russia invaded and annexed Crimea from Ukraine. But it didn't go that way. Many worry about the implications of that war and whether we should just butt out. Is this war different than what we've seen before? If so, why?
According to our guest, a good part of the answer is "Urban Warfare" and "meaning." He believes that Urban Warfare can teach us much about modern leadership.
John Spencer is considered by many to be the world's leading expert on urban warfare. He is also a radical thought leader, experienced war veteran, team builder, and creative mind. John is an award-winning scholar, professor, author, combat veteran, and internationally recognized expert and advisor on urban warfare and other military-related topics. He currently serves as the Chair of Urban Warfare Studies with the Madison Policy Forum. John recently served as the Chair of Urban Warfare Studies at the Modern War Institute at West Point, Co-Director of the Urban Warfare Project, and host of the Urban Warfare Project podcast.
He is the author of several books, Connected Soldiers: Life, Leadership, and Social Connections in Modern War and Understanding Urban Warfare. The second was written for Ukraine civilians. That book went viral and has helped hundreds of thousands of civilians defeat the world's second-biggest military.

The Sleep Sciences
In recent years, even workaholics have been trying to understand the importance of Sleep and if it's possible to get less of it while doing more.
Is sleep as important as we think or even more important than we imagine?
More than 35% of Americans get less than seven hours of Sleep per night, and 1 in 20 has fallen asleep at the wheel. Do 7+ hours of sleep really matter?
Our guest for this episode is the Chairman of Cambridge Sleep Sciences, Dr. Chris Dickson. Dr. Dickson has a background in medical devices, clinical software, aviation, occupational medicine, pre-hospital emergency care, and general medical practice.

Productive Accidents with Peter Williams
In a world where we're overworked and overstressed, it's become in vogue to get good at saying "no." As much as that makes sense, we must also consider the other side, which is getting good at saying "Yes" and getting out of our comfort zones.
.
But how do you sort out what to say yes to without going into overwhelm? Additionally, what if saying yes is the pathway to both innovation and something our guest calls, Productive Accidents?
.
Our guest for the next two episodes is Peter Williams. Peter grew up in rural Australia on a BMX and skateboard and went on to have a global career in finance. He is a serial volunteer serving on the Music for Life International boards, based in New York; Resolve Foundation, based in Hong Kong; and Treasury & Innovation Professional at Citi. Peter is an Advisory Board Chair, Author, Speaker, and Podcast Host.
His second book, Productive Accidents, gives us a framework for innovation that can also turn our lives into an evolving adventure. Peter, his wife, and four children have been living in Asia since 2001.

Our guest for the next two episodes is Normal Bacal
What is in front of you that you may secretly believe you can't do?
Imagine yourself on the banks of a river you've never seen before; you don't know what formed that river, where the twists and turns are, or whether it will be turbulent or smooth waters ahead.
Leadership requires putting our boat in the water, frequently with little information. We must constantly assess where we are going, where we've been, and where we are.
Charting your course down the river of life, the future of business, and leadership is challenging. Will we even get our boat in the water? Will we spend our time looking back at where we came from, or maybe we'll ignore the past and hold our eyes on the prize?
Norman Bacal knows all about this because he had it all. He worked his way from obscurity to the top of his profession—a Canadian film and television finance specialist for 25 years, representing Canadian producers and major film studios.
He went on to build an iconic Canadian law firm home to two retired Canadian prime ministers.
In 2014, instead of retiring, he rewired himself as a consultant to professional firms; he became a motivational speaker and author. However, something happened and Norm fell fast and hard. Once he processed the pain and the hurt, Norm applied techniques that rewired who he had believed he was on his journey to success.
Norm is living proof that with the right skills, tools, and mindset, you do what terrifies you and be successful in it.

In 1982 Tom Peters wrote the ground-breaking book "In Search of Excellence." When that book was published, Chairman Mao had recently died; China was making little progress in closing the economic gap between China and the industrialized nations.
Here we are, more than 40 years and a digital revolution later, China has become the second largest economy in the world. The UK has left the EU and we had the 2008 global recession and a recent pandemic. That's just a quick overview of some business changes since the 1980s. A natural question is, what does it take to create excellence in today's multi-generational workforce?
Post-pandemic leaders have faced the Great Resignation, followed quickly by the phenomena known as Quiet Quitting. How, with all this going on, can we become high-performing organizations during, what appears to be, a talent desert?
Let's find out. Our guest for the next two episodes is Adrian Simpson. Adrian is the co-founder of Wavelength Companies. For 30 years, Adrian has taken over 1,500 leaders physically and virtually inside the boardrooms and shop floors of some of the world's most admired, successful, and progressive organizations. In recent years he has taken clients to Silicon Valley, China, and India to visit the likes of Apple, Alibaba, Airbnb, Tesla, Netflix, Lego, Ritz-Carlton hotels, Aravind Eye Care System, and Southwest Airlines.
Recently, Adrian's hosted live virtual symposiums with the CEOs of IKEA, Unilever, and the President of Four Seasons, and ran a two-day Inside Digital China Event that took 120 clients inside, what is unequivocally, the world's most advanced digital economy.
Through their lens, Adrian experiences the defining characteristics of success and is uniquely qualified to advise organizations on how to become high-performing organizations, even in this talent desert.

Whether you are a member of a multi-generational family business or a leader in a growing organization, you are undoubtedly aware of or even frustrated by the conflicting demands of today's workplace.
Trying to work out what people want to come on board, stay on board, and be engaged is no longer a one size fits all.
This can, of course, be not only confusing, but it can leave many leaders throwing their hands up in frustration.
Today's workforce is unique in our history. For the first time, we have four, sometimes five generations working side-by-side, and the result for both them and those leading these multi-generational teams can be a major frustration. But have we even bothered to stop and ask ourselves, what are the stories we tell about these other generations?
What's the answer?
Stay tuned because our guest is Dr. Tim Elmore.
Dr. Tim Elmore is the founder and CEO of Growing Leaders, an Atlanta‐based non‐profit organization created to develop emerging leaders.
His work grew out of 20 years of serving alongside John C. Maxwell. However, Dr. Tim Elmore has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, USA Today, and Psychology Today, and he's been featured on CNN's Headline News and Fox and Friends to talk about leading multiple generations in the marketplace.
The man is a machine in that he has written over 35 books. Dr. Tim Elmore has spoken to over 500,000 leaders in businesses, universities, athletic teams, and non-profit organizations, including The Home Depot, Coca-Cola, American Eagle and Chick-Fil-A as well as the San Francisco.
Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ohio State University, Stanford University, and the University of Alabama athletics.

Not all bridges are made of wood or steel. The most important Bridge-Building is done with Curiosity, Compassion, and Courage.
We are all swimming in an ocean of partisan division. It's everywhere; it's happening in Washington, DC, it's happening at family gatherings, and it's happening inside our organizations. All too often, leaders like us feel we have to batten down the hatches around lines of division by creating an ever-increasing number of rules and regulations that will generate even more division over time.
Playing into division costs us engagement; it costs us morale, and it will cost us our corporate culture. But what can we do?
Stay tuned because we will sit down with the Cultural DJ, Tom Fishman over the next two episodes. Tom Fishman is the CEO of a company that has created a movement to overcome the culture wars. Before becoming CEO of Starts With Us, Tom spent over 12 years building and scaling businesses, audiences, and highly engaged communities at the interface of culture, media, and technology. He was most recently the GM at the video technology company Eko, bringing first-of-their-kind shoppable interactive video experiences to market. Previously, Tom led product strategy for Facebook's original content team and led digital at MTV as SVP Strategy & Operations, amassing a digital community of over 250 million fans globally.
Today, Tom Fishman is the CEO of Starts With Us, of which I am honored to be a founding member. Starts With Us is a non-partisan civic movement to overcome America's bitter culture wars, using media and technology to foster independent thinking, healthier communication, and courageous collaboration across our differences. Starts With Us, was founded by Daniel Lubetzky, who is also the founder of KIND Snacks.

A powerful analogy for being a great Leader must be in being the conductor of a symphony orchestra. As the conductor of that orchestra, you have around eighty to one hundred musicians in front of you. They are all brilliant in their own right, all fighting to have their brilliance heard above everyone else's, and you must serve the greater good. You must combine them into coherence and harmony to serve a greater good. But how can we do it?
Stay tuned over the next two episodes as we sit down with Arnaud Saint-Paul.
Over the last 20 years, Arnaud has been a philanthropist and an award-winning entrepreneur. He lives between Los Angeles and Paris and travels worldwide while having a successful career in finance and technology. After studying different religions and philosophies to understand himself, Arnaud's purpose today is to open billions of hearts and help them to find harmony within and around them. He is doing this work with many top corporate leaders and entrepreneurs who realize the need to find harmony within themselves and their organizations.

Is There a Bottle Neck in Your Trust Pipeline?
Up until 2019, global levels of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) were on the rise. However, recent data shows that our EQ has been steadily dropping since the pandemic. Take a moment to consider what this means for you as a leader. Furthermore, what does it mean in the context of attracting and keeping your top talent?
Self-awareness, particularly emotional self-awareness, can be tricky when we haven't either developed or reinforced our emotional intelligence. Let's say that you have done your EQ training and even read a book or two on the subject, but do we genuinely understand what Emotional Intelligence is?
.
Let's face it; emotions can seem like an inconvenient pain in that they come up when we don't want them to, and they can be challenging to understand. But what if emotions are the most crucial value your people can bring to your organization?
.
Well, that's where we're going on our next couple of episodes with our guest Mr. Joshua Freedman. Joshua has co-founded Six Seconds, and for 25 years, he has partnered with leaders to build value with emotions in places like FedEx, the UN, and HSBC. Six Seconds works in 200 countries and territories to raise the world's emotional intelligence. Six Seconds – is a global community of emotional intelligence practitioners, researchers, and experts, working toward a billion people practicing EQ.
.
Joshua is a master-certified coach (International Coaching Federation) and the international EQ Coach Certification leader. He is an international bestselling author of, At The Heart of Leadership, one of five books he's written, including Whole-Hearted Parenting. Joshua leads two ongoing research projects, The Workplace Vitality Report and The State of the Heart, which is the world's most extensive study of EQ. He's co-author of the POP-UP Festival, in partnership with UNICEF World Children's Day, a free play-based curriculum introducing SEL to 1.5 million children and adults.

How to champion creativity, change culture and save your soul: John Couch
We speak so much about the need for innovation in our businesses and in our industries. However, a vital question we may need to stop and ask is: are we strangling innovation in the crib by restricting the Creative Rebels inside our own organizations?
.
Our special guest on this exclusive episode is John Couch
He is Chief Experience Officer for Blockchain Creative Labs / Head of Galvanize Studios/author of “The Art of Creative Rebellion” / former head of design for Hulu | eBay | Qualcomm | CBS | MOCA | Wired

He is a writer (novels and screenwriting), artist (you can see him create live on Instagram, he’s also a designer who is dedicated to unlocking creativity in businesses, his co-workers and himself. What if Your Crazy is Calling You to Your Genius?
Could it be that despite your fear, embracing the crazy or cracked parts of yourself might be immensely beneficial to your leadership? Let's face it; we've all been through our battles. Some are more severe than others. Consider this; the pain you are experiencing is not designed to break you but rather to break you open. What if you opened up and allowed yourself to fully experience that cracking, knowing that it is through those cracks the light could penetrate and illuminate what you may have hidden from yourself?
Our guest for the next two episodes certainly understands that. Susan Clarke and her partner CrisMarie Campbell are the co-founders of Thrive Inc. They've spent 20 years helping men, women, couples, and teams to resolve difficult conflicts and create solid and thriving relationships.
Susan Clarke and her partner co-host a podcast, The Beauty of Conflict, and have given presentations on conflict resolution, communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving at Fortune 100 companies like Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, AT&T, and Nationwide, and at the Gates Foundation, University of Washington Medical Center, San Francisco Giants, and many others.
Yet, at 24, Susan's entrepreneurial path became a quest to find a solution to a terminal cancer diagnosis. What Susan discovered was Crazy, Cracked, Warm, and Deep, which is the name of her latest book; her memoir. This is a stirring history;
however, it's also a primer on how to locate and remember the broken and separated parts in each of us, clearing the pain so the dark spots get the needed light to live forward.

Learning From Experiments
As leaders, much of what we do depends entirely on the quality of our decisions.
However, as stress kicks in and our brain gets washed with a tsunami of cortisol, those none reactive decisions become more and more challenging to make. But what if there was a simple and powerful strategy that could show you that the thing you might see as impossible is, unless...
.
Imagine if there was simply an app on your device that could eliminate the overwhelming stress and allow you to tap into the greatest decision-makers in your industry? Could an app help us make faster decisions when it really matters? What if there was a way to tap into the exact constraints to get you to crystal clarity?

Surgeon, Pilot, & Innovator
Most of us in leadership roles have all come to our positions through some form of specialization. However, almost every innovation and advancement in science, leadership, or anything else has been through the convergence of multiple areas of expertise. Most often, that comes about by building exceptional teams. However, sometimes it comes from individuals who are polymaths; These are people who study different areas and find ways to bridge their knowledge into genuine innovation. One of the areas where this is becoming evident is in the medical sciences.
.
Our guest for the next two episodes is Dr. Jonathan Sackier. Jonathan is an experienced executive leader, physician, entrepreneur, and inventor. He trained in Britain as both a pilot and surgeon. He helped pioneer the laparoscopic surgery revolution. Jonathan has been a founding partner of several successful start-ups in the medical technology industry, recognized as an industry leader in bringing innovative products from bench to bedside, such as AESOP, and a valued member of the team that developed the world's first operating room robot with Computer Motion. With his team of experts, Jonathan patented non-invasive technology to heal brain trauma, and advancements in stem cell technology to improve quality of life.

Jonathan has earned two Honorary Professorships from Oxford University and the National Hepatobiliary and Enteric Surgery Research Center in the Peoples Republic of China Global Business Relations. He has launched and facilitated business growth in the GCC, Australasia, India, Russia, and Europe. He's also an esteemed member of the Global Chief Medical & Health Officer Network.

What's driving your pursuit of success? As we have spoken about many times on this podcast, success without a commitment to adding significant value to others is unlikely to bring any lasting fulfillment. So, what does it take to go from success to significance and on to fulfillment? Can being massively driven allow you to do it alone, or does it take a community? If it does take teaming up with others, how would you know who to team up with? How can we embark on a journey from Success to Significance?
.
We've all met people, sometimes in the mirror, who treat it like a defining destination despite knowing it's a journey. They somehow believe they will be different when they get "there." Then, to their great disappointment, they discover that they have worked their butts off, and as a result, they have all the shiny things on the outside but are often empty on the inside.
.
Our guest for the next two episodes knows all about that. Aaron Walker is a veteran entrepreneur. Aaron is a man with a multi-layered story of success without significance. His journey towards forgiveness, fellowship, community, and service came through a path of Anger and Hate. Aaron has been to the edge of a personal hell and made it back to guide others toward something far more meaningful.
He's had 14 businesses and has retired thrice, the first time at 27 years old. However, something life-altering happened when he was 40 that would take him down a very dark path to the bottom where he had to do massive self-inquiry to come back and share his View From The Top.
Aaron is also the bestselling author of, View From the Top, Living a Life of

Whether it's Downs Syndrome, the Autistic, or the homeless individuals of our society, it's easy to see these challenges as other people's problems. However, the fact is, we all live in a connected society. All of these things and more are no more than a few degrees of separation from us all. But what can we do?
.
The last time a global survey was attempted – by the United Nations in 2005 – an estimated 100 million people were homeless worldwide. Homelessness is at an epidemic level. As many as 1.6 billion people lacked adequate housing (Habitat, 2015). If you are not in the situation of being homeless or even close to it, it can seem like an unsolvable problem that has very little to do with those of us who are business leaders. But is it?
.
Our guest for the next two episodes is Jeff Rotmeyer. Jeff is originally from my adopted hometown of Vancouver, Canada. That being said, we don't know each other from Vancouver. Jeff has spent his last 16 years in Hong Kong, where he founded two different charities on the same day. H is the Founder and CEO of ImpactHK, a charity transforming the lives of those experiencing homelessness in Hong Kong. ImpactHK started with just a few individuals aiming to show kindness to those in need and has now grown into a humanitarian movement involving over ten thousand volunteers that have helped over 400 individuals to get off the streets.
.
Jeff is also the Founder and CEO of Love 21 Foundation, a charity supporting the Down Syndrome and autistic community with sports and nutrition programs. Love 21 supports over 260 families with a holistic program that strives to give the neuro-diverse community the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Metaverse coming to everything near you...now!
What if AI and VR are not only better but preferred?
Self-driving cars are already here, and it won't be long before fully autonomous vehicles take over all driving jobs. Taxi, Uber, and Truck drivers will soon be a thing of the past. Perhaps you might be thinking that your job is safe. But is it? Some professions might seem untouchable, but what if that's not true? For instance, what if AI and VR doctors are not only better but preferred?
.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and virtual reality/the Metaverse is no longer the stuff of science fiction; they are already part of your life even if you don't recognize them. When you open your phone with face ID, that's AI. Valuable tools like Siri and Alexa are AI. Smart thermostats, Fridges, and lights are all uses of AI.
.
But there's another level of depth known as the Metaverse. In the Metaverse, using VR, you and I can experience something "artificial" with all of our senses, as if it were a genuine real-world experience. But how does this impact leadership?
.
Our guest is Dr. Skip Rizzo for the next two episodes. Dr. Rizzo is an internationally recognized thought leader in his field and was hailed by Polygon as one of the top 25 greatest innovators in virtual reality. Dr. Rizzo is a clinical psychologist and Director of Medical Virtual Reality at the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies. He is also a Research Professor with the USC Dept. of Psychiatry and at the USC Davis School of Gerontology.
.
The volume and innovation of his work have also earned him many awards. His commitment is to revolutionize healthcare with the development of innovative VR products that have a positive impact on the field. Over the last 25 years, Skip has conducted research for designing, developing, and evaluating Virtual Reality systems. This work has focused on PTSD, TBI, Autism, ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and other clinical conditions.
.
The common thread driving his work with digital technologies involves studying how interactive and immersive Virtual Reality simulations can be usefully applied to address human healthcare—taking us beyond what is possible with traditional 20th Century tools and methods.
Dr. Skip Rizzo has been given the moniker of "The Godfather of Virtual Reality".

Part 2 of 2
What is true resilience?
Imagine being stripped away from your birth family due to the circumstances of war? Imagine being shipped off to a country with a completely different language and having to live with strangers. Okay, that's tough enough. Now imagine entering into what at the time is a fledgling industry that wants nothing to do with you because it's a men's club and you are a woman. As if all that's not enough, let’s now imagine taking all that on the chin, and you go on to become a Technology Icon who started a software business employing only women in the 1960s.
Stay tuned because, over the next two episodes, we sit down with a technology Icon and a true champion of women in technology and leadership since the 1960s, Dame Stephanie Shirley.
In 1962 Dame Stephanie founded an all-woman software company that pioneered remote working and redefined the expectations and opportunities for working women at that time.
Her company, Freelance Programmers, grew to 8,500 employees, was ultimately valued at almost $3 billion, and made 70 of her staff into millionaires.
Since 'retiring,' her focus has been on philanthropy, especially on autism and IT. Over the last 30 years, Dame Stephanie has given away almost $100 million to good causes, primarily in the fields of autism and IT.

We may not have considered how the stories will tell ourselves, and others determine who our people show up as. Let me give you a couple of examples. In 1974, I saw Bruce Lee in a movie called, Enter the Dragon, and as a result, I and millions of other kids took up martial arts. Who among us hasn't watched a high-speed chase movie at the cinema and then drove home afterward with a somewhat different style?
The stories we tell ourselves and the stories we are told impact and influence us. Have you considered that, as a leader, the stories you are allowing to impact you and those you lead? That's just a taste of where we're going on our next couple of episodes.
Our guest is Gabriel Napora, an international, award-winning film producer and financier. Gabriel’s films have won the most significant film festivals in the world, including Toronto International Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. He's had the most critically acclaimed film of 2020, and the top documentary in the world in April of 2021, and Gabriel is currently producing a slate of films with some of Hollywood's top stars, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, The Rock, and Jordan Peterson.
Gabriel’s movie, Skin, won the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival. The Kindergarten Teacher won the Top Director Award at The Sundance Film Festival out of 15,000 submissions, and Bisping became the world's top documentary for two weeks in 2022. Having executive produced with names like Leonardo DiCaprio, The Rock, and Jordan Peterson, Gabriel is committed to working on socially relevant films and documentaries that make people think.

There comes a point in every leader's career, especially an entrepreneurial leader, where they realize that what they are doing is unsustainable and the value they're adding is massively devalued because they are doing too much. However, Profit Lives in The Resistance Zone
The answer is, of course, that we need to trust enough to delegate to someone else. As much as delegation may seem like the perfect solution, it can be a disaster. As a result, we can end up in, what's now known as, the Delegator's Dilemma. How to navigate the Delegator's Dilemma is specifically where we're going on our next couple of episodes.
Our guest is Yuri Elkaim. At 17 years old, Yuri faced an auto-immune illness that took him from being a hairy teen to bald. He then became a pro athlete who, at age 24, reconsidered his life path as an athlete and returned from Europe to pursue his deeper passion for health and nutrition. From there, he went on to build a business that would assist ½ million people worldwide.
Yuri Elkaim has become a leading health expert, New York Times bestselling author, and the founder of Healthpreneur®. Yuri is a proud Canadian contrarian thought leader. He walks his talk by sharing lessons and insights from being a pro athlete to having 17 years as a leader in the entrepreneurial trenches.

We've all met those folks who seem to have horseshoes inserted in their rectums. Things just seem to work out for them. Do the Gods favor them, or could there be a science of luck?
There's a reasonable assumption that talent, skill, mental toughness, hard work, tenacity, optimism, growth mindset, and emotional intelligence determine how we distribute resources. We tend to give resources to those who have a history of success and often ignore those who have been unsuccessful, assuming that the most successful are also the most competent. But is this assumption correct?
In recent years, several studies and books, including those by risk analyst, Nassim Taleb, have suggested that luck and opportunity may play a far more significant role than we ever realized. Even if you don't believe in luck, you undoubtedly have had moments that seemed to have certain serendipity. I'm curious, have you ever considered that you may be able to manufacture that serendipity?
Our guest for the next two episodes is Dr. Christian Busch. Christian is one of the world's leading experts in innovation, purpose-driven leadership, and serendipity.
He is the bestselling author of The Serendipity Mindset: The Art & Science of Creating Good Luck. Christian Busch also teaches at the London School of Economics (LSE), is a co-founder of Leaders on Purpose and the Sandbox Network, and is a former director of LSE's Innovation Lab. We all know the world has changed dramatically in the 21st century. The opportunities that defined past generations and steered their course through life aren't out there for us anymore. You and I were told we've got to go to college and get a degree if we want a chance at having a good job. But is that still true? Did you know that today, 54% of college graduates regret investing in a degree? Over 70% of Americans detest their jobs, hence the Great Resignation. Yet, 2 out of 3 Americans will never be able to stop working and retire.
Maybe we need to ask ourselves some hard questions, like, are we feeding into a broken system? If so, what can we do about it for ourselves and our children?
Stay tuned because that's where we are going on the next two episodes. Our guest is Jeff Lerner. I don't know if you remember the early 2000's boom, then came 2008 and the Global Economy went into recession. In November of that year, during "the Great Recession," our guest, Jeff Lerner, like many entrepreneurs and leaders, found himself at rock bottom. A former professional piano player, Jeff found himself nursing an injured wrist. Then to make matters worse, his landlord evicted him from his apartment. Could it get worse? Oh yeah! His wife was divorcing him. Jeff struggled with depression and the cherry on top was that he owed creditors almost half a million dollars from a failed restaurant venture.
Today, Jeff is a 3x INC5000 CEO with over $100 million in sales to his name. He is also happily remarried with four beautiful children and physically in the best shape of his life. In 2019, a decade after turning his own life around, he founded ENTRE Institute, the world's first institute of higher learning for entrepreneurs, which is now one of the fastest-growing education-technology companies in the world.
He is also the host of the Unlock Your Potential podcast. Jeff is also the author of the same name, Unlock Your Potential: The Ultimate Guide for Creating Your Dream Life in the Modern World.
