Twitter won the rights to stream Thursday Night Football games. This was a battle they won over the likes of Amazon, Verizon and Facebook.

With these rights, the NFL is looking to reach the cord-cutters without cable and Twitter is looking for the content it so desperately needs to realize user growth.
