As part of the official Underwhelmed Spring Break, Christie and Nicole treated themselves to a photography session that involved absolutely zero selfies. After the shoot, they had a fun conversation with the exclusive Underwhelmed photographer, Heather Deadrick. Heather recently left her full time office job to pursue her "side hustle" of wedding photography. The dynamic duo found her stories to be quite entertaining and were honestly shocked at the number of dry weddings she's attended in her career. They were particularly fascinated by her role as photographer, maid of honor, and groom's ex girlfriend- all in one wedding!  Heather gives out some tips for anyone who is interested in taking their hobby or side hustle to the next level as well as advice for those who like (or dread) to be photographed.

It's SPRING BREAK!!!!...season that is. Unfortunately, only Nicole has something that resembles a spring break this year. Luckily, over a decade ago the dynamic duo was able to experience a true Spring Break or two so they aren't bitter about being adults or anything.  To celebrate those lucky enough to have a real spring break, Christie and Nicole are reminiscing about their favorite Spring Break highlights together.  In doing so, they come to the realization that they may actually be more "spring vacationers" than "spring breakers."   Christie and Nicole probably wouldn't survive long on a revival of MTV's spring break as they've taken a vow against pull out sofas, cold showers, clubbing, and any form of ticketing system to obtain meals.  Instead the girls plan their ideal spring vacation, which would include massages and other spa services, fine(r) wine, and cold possibly resemble the 1995 film, Heavyweights.

With 2018 on the horizon, Christie and Nicole discuss the fact that there are few things more underwhelming than New Year’s Eve. They have both experienced some hilariously underwhelming past NYE celebrations that have included things like camcorders, cars being towed, swingers, James Bond, and Christie being left at a party.

The Dynamic Duo also discusses their dislike for New Years Resolutions, and how you should set New Year’s goals instead. Nicole also shares how carrying around a coffee bean in your pocket can help you meet your New Year’s goals!

The ladies of Underwhelmed wrap the episode up by chatting about the highs and lows of 2017 and realize they need more excitement in their lives. Luckily, they have their new craft, podcasting, to focus on in 2018!

This week, prior to heading out to their individual Christmas festivities, Christie and Nicole set out to record a short episode to share their feelings on Christmas shopping and Christmas gifts. As it turns out, the Dynamic Duo also has a lot of semi-related thoughts and stories to share as well, and thus ends up recording a full, regular length episode.

In addition to their feelings on Christmas gifts, they discuss Boxing Day, Nicole’s fear of becoming a hoarder, Christie's future inheritance, teacher gifts, rental clothing subscriptions, their love of camcorders, ways they have used camcorders, and the best gift Nicole ever received- an overhead projector.

In this week's episode, Christie and Nicole take a break from the official Underwhelmed Podcast Christmas Party in Richmond, VA to chat with their friend Lisa Iker about running, races, and running culture. Christie and Lisa ran the Columbus, OH Marathon in 2013, but you already know this if you are related to, friends with, briefly met, or randomly passed by either one of them. Nicole has also run her fair share of races since it is the basic thing to do. With their past experiences in mind, the trio discusses the cost of running races they will never win, the training schedules associated with long distance running, and whether or not they looked like models while wearing their official finisher metals and eating free bananas. This week the Dynamic Duo chats with one of Christie’s former coworkers, Rob Volpe, about his international love story and real life 90 Day Fiancé experience. Rob met his now wife, Paola, while living in Columbia and brought her back to the United States through the K-1 visa program. During this process the couple learned about the TLC show 90 Day Fiancé and began the casting process, however, they ultimately decided against moving forward for various reasons. This adorable couple is now WAY past the 90 days and Christie and Nicole were excited to learn more about this process and how he feels that the reality show stacks up to his personal experience.

It has been a wild week of life updates when it comes to the Underwhelmed ladies. Christie shares the story of her group layoff and discusses her new status as unemployed, both share their Halloween stories and experiences, and Nicole surprises us with a major wardrobe update.

The duo then jumps into a discussion about about one of their favorite past times – watching and analyzing Reality TV. Topics include: the differences between Bravo and TLC reality shows, Kathy Griffin’s beef with Andy Cohen, casting for the Real Housewives and the selected cast members’ alcohol consumption and casting, Nobleman Magazine, the Dugger’s lifestyle, and whether or not they would ever search for love online and internationally.

In the very first Underwhelmed Bonus Episode (originally their pilot episode), Christie and Nicole introduce one another to the world.

Christie is an Account Manager for an IT Staffing Company with dreams of being a reality tv star/house flipper with a pool. Christie was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. Her parents moved her to Doylestown, PA her sophomore year of high school where she graduated from CB East. She then went onto the University of Maryland where she joined Sigma Kappa and paid for her friends. Since graduating she has held multiple underwhelming jobs including a leadership development program role in the printing industry, an account management job for a legal insurance company, and she now finds herself working in IT staffing. She met her now husband, Kevin, in 2011 and moved with him to Cincinnati in 2012. They got an adorable yorkie named Galileo and started building a pretty sweet DINK life for themselves. At the end of 2015 they left their cushy DINK lives in Cincinnati to move to Richmond, VA. They now live in the suburbs of Richmond, VA with their beautiful daughter, Madeline.

Nicole was born and raised in Timonium, MD. She graduated from Delaney High School and also went onto attend the University of Maryland where she joined Sigma Kappa and paid for her friends. After graduating with duel degrees in Accounting and Finance, Nicole moved down to Miami for Teach for America to become an elementary school teacher. After a year of living in a place where everyone marches to the meat of their own drum, she decided to move back to Baltimore and become an Accountant and CPA. After giving her soul to public accounting for a few years she decided to give teaching another shot and got her Masters in Education. She is now a fifth grade teacher (recently promoted from fourth) and a homeowner living in Baltimore, MD. She also has a boyfriend named Noah a.k.a. Snoah.

In the Halloween episode, Spooktacularly Underwhelmed, Christie and Nicole discuss the differences between the “Suburban Halloween” Christie is experiencing and the “Urban Halloween” Nicole is partaking in this year.

Christie reviews all the things that go into a “Suburban Halloween” including: Halloween decorations, being “Booed”, family costumes, farm entry fees and the high cost of pumpkins, and neighborhood activities. Nicole describes her limited involvement with Halloween as she is experiencing the “Urban Halloween” and reminisces on the costumes she created as a child.  The duo also touches on different types of inappropriate Halloween costumes and whether or not apple picking is really that great of an experience.

Christie and Nicole discuss the recent allegations against Harvey Weinstein and how they are surprised by how shocked people are since things like this happen in corporate America all the time - regardless of location or industry. This spirals off into a conversation regarding their experiences in corporate America and the things and events that have amused and underwhelmed them. Nicole also touches upon the differences between corporate America and working in education as a teacher. 

The duo touches on buzz words, workplace lingo, navigating corporate politics, open format and millennial friendly work environments, corporate philanthropy events, working with all different kinds of people, and giving 110% effort to your company.

In their very first episode, Christie and Nicole discuss their status as Xeninals has caused them to develop complex feelings toward social media and technology as a whole.
