Submit ReviewThe wrestler formerly known as Kurtis Chapman joins Bozzers for this week's chinwag. The Keyboard Warrior, proudly blocked on Twitter by Donald Trump, is known for winding up fellow wrestlers on social media, but has he ever taken it too far and got himself into trouble outside of the ring? Have any wrestlers taken their gripes with Mad Kurt into the DMs? Is anyone safe from his poison tweet button? We explore.
Thanks to guest host Scroobius Pip for taking the time to lead the charge on this episode while Bozzers is in recovery. Check out the Distraction Pieces Podcast for more top work from this top bab.

Jim sat down with the sensational Sugar Dunkerton for a chat. If you don't know Suge, he's in the UK for the next six months and is really making his name here after spending his time doing good things on the indie scene in the USA. As the UK scene keeps growing, it's cool to get the perspective of someone who has moved here to be part of it, as opposed to the old tradition of British guys heading for the states to make their fortune. Suge is a GREAT guy and someone you should definitely be checking out if he's wrestling near you; this was a really fun chat and there probably needs to be a part two down the line!

For the last podcast of 2018, Jim sat down with Chris Brooker and Matthew Richards to add nine more names to the Tuesday Night Jaw hall of fame. They got three picks each to add to the 20 names put in there last year, and they must follow these rules: wrestlers must be retired OR over the age of 40, and not currently in the WWE Hall of Fame (or absolute certainties to go in there in the future).
Now we need YOUR help. In January we'll add FIVE more names to the Hall of Fame, of your choosing. We'll also wrap up a crazy 2018 with the year-end awards, so we need YOUR votes. Email the following to progresspolls@gmail.com:
1 xNominee for the TNJ Hall of Fame (see above)
Male wrestler of the year - WWE
Male wrestler of the year - non WWE
Female wrestler of the year - WWE
Female wrestler of the year - non WWE
Match of the year - WWE
Match of the year - non WWE
Show of the year - WWE
Show of the year - non WWE
There are still shows to come this year so don't rush getting those votes in! Final deadline is JANUARY 7th.

Powerhouse independent wrestler Parrow hit the headlines late in 2017 when he publicly came out as gay, his online interview quickly going viral and leading to his positive, inspiring story to be shared hundreds of thousands of times. Jim first met Parrow in Orlando last year, and got together with him on Skype to talk about that whole experience, beginnings in wrestling, going on Good Morning Britain, getting heat when you're a newbie and how to obtain Salted Caramel Java Monster.
Parrow is a great guy and he's heading to the UK for a spoken word / Q and A tour with PROGRESS's own Jack Sexsmith to promote inclusivity in April. Tickets and more info: https://kayfabeevents.ticketbud.com/an-evening-with-mike-parrow-uk-tour-2018

It's time for everybody's favourite PPV of the year, the Royal Rumble! This year the event had not one but TWO rumble matches, plus a load more besides. And the day before, there was another great NXT Takeover show as well. Jim gets together with PROGRESS colleague Jon Briley and Distraction Pieces Network honcho Scroobius Pip to chat about both shows, as well as a bit of stuff about the PROGRESS show that happened on Sunday too. WARNING! SPOILERS FOR THREE SHOWS SO BEAR THAT IN MIND!

Last week, the entire wrestling world stopped and watched a massive show at an unholy hour because it was the enormous WRESTLE KINGDOM 12 show from New Japan Pro Wrestling in the Tokyo Dome. Jim got together with Matt Richards and Melanie Price to discuss the mammoth card, from the main event of Okada vs Naito to the eagerly awaited clash between Alpha and Omega. Plus who we'd have in our own handsome battle, predictions for next year and a guide to buying astroturf.

It's been snowing a lot here in the UK. You'd be aware of this, unless you lived under a rock (although if you did live under a rock, you'd then be hopefully protected from the snow). Jim and his PROGRESS colleagues had to put a show on this past weekend in Sheffield despite a lot of travel problems for the wrestlers, so he talks you through what it was like behind the scenes at the weekend.
Also, it's soon time to vote for the 2017 TNJ Year-End Awards; check out Jim's pinned tweet via @jimsmallman for instructions, but Jim talks you through them in the second half of the podcast so it hopefully all makes sense!

Jim gathers together with the Northern TNJ posse (yeah, we called them a posse) Chris Brooker and Matt Richards to induct the first ever wrestlers into the TNJ Hall of Fame. Of course there's rules: inductees cannot be in the WWE Hall of Fame as yet and have to be either over 40 or retired from in-ring competition. We put a whopping TWENTY people in this first time (don't want the first inductees rattling around in there) and it's a combination of people that mean a lot to us and choices of the TNJ listeners. And one example of Matt being daft.

So with Jim doing a load of research recently and with Survivor Series still fresh in the memory, he's set about to create a list episode with a difference: Survivor Series style teams of five wrestlers, but from every decade from the 1950s to the 2010s. So each team has five men from that decade, one to represent a technician, brawler, big character, high flyer and team captain in each different team. Nobody can be in more than one team AND Jim only used guys that had significant appearances in the USA or Canada during each relevant decade, so it's not super Japan biased for once.

After a long hiatus, Jim is back with special guests at the Acast studios in London for a huge roundtable discussing Survivor Series and NXT Takeover Wargames. After a great weekend of wrestling Jim's guests are Distraction Pieces Network head honcho (he's dead famous) Scroobius Pip, PROGRESS co-owner and chief cyborg Jon Briley, and the Pride of Wales Eddie Dennis (who after his night before we recorded, we were lucky to have). We discuss two of the best matches of the year, dream Survivor Series teams and who has the best voice in all of wrestling.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO etc.
So last year, Liverpool's Number One Zack Gibson was a guest on TNJ, and he chatted to Jim about his first trip to China. These stories were so hilarious that Zack has been one of the most requested guests to have back on... so Jim popped along to the Fighting Spirit Wrestling School in Liverpool to catch up with Mr Gibson and learn all about his second trip to China.
Oh boy. This is a really, REALLY good one.
