40. The Steamboat mass murder
00:57:19
During the night between May 16th and May 17th of the year 1900, a man attacked people onboard of the steamer Prins Carl in the lake Mälaren.
It was supposed to be a robbery, but a lot of things went wrong that night.
The 25-year-old Filip Nordlund ended up killing 5 people, and wounding another 8 people, and he only got away with what in today’s money would have been 1700 USD.
It started out as any other Tuesday morning, but this day was going to be far from normal. It was October 19th, 2004, in a town called Linköping in Sweden.
8-year-old Mohamed leaves his apartment to walk the short distance to school, and at about the same time 56-year-old Anna Lena leaves her home to go to work.
They have no connection and have never met each other, but what happens this morning is going to connect them forever. This is the story of the double homicide in Linköping.
On September 10, 2003, a man with a knife attacks and brutally stabs the
minister of Foreign Affairs, Anna Lindh, inside a department store in the
central parts of Stockholm. Anna is rushed to the hospital but dies the next
day due to her injuries.
This is the beginning of a manhunt to find the person responsible.
At 11:10 pm on August 3rd, 2016, a badly injured woman called 112, the Swedish emergency number. She woke up and saw a man sitting on top of her husband in bed, stabbing him. When the perpetrator realized that she was awake he started stabbing her as well. She was probably unconscious for a while, but when she came to, she called emergency services to get help. She was badly wounded and hadn’t yet realized that her husband was already dead. Ambulance and police were sent to the beautiful summer cabin in Granliden, outside of the city of Arboga in the middle of Sweden. This was the beginning of what would become one of Sweden’s most infamous murder cases.
The last part about The Arboga woman (Arbogakvinnan) Johanna Möller.

On 22 October 2015, 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson entered the Kronan
School in the town of Trollhättan, armed with a huge sword. His mission was to
kill, but some students thought he was pranking, I guess the situation was so
unreal.
We don’t really have school shootings here in Sweden, I guess because it’s much more difficult for a Swedish teenager to get a hold of a gun. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have frustrated teenagers. And even if you are armed with a sword, the damage you can cause is horrible.

On December 17, 2004, a bank robbery takes place at a local bank in the
city of Söderhamn. A man walked into the bank with a gun and demanded the tellers
to hand over all the money they had. The robber got away with about 70 000
dollars.
When the hunt for the robber begins, the police officers out searching has
no idea that the person they are looking for are not only a fellow police
officer, he is also participating in the search for himself.
This is the absurd story of a police officer on duty – who decided to rob a bank.
