Submit ReviewIn the Bible, there are numerous examples of Christians who have been discouraged — Moses, Jeremiah, Elijah, David and Job just to name a few. So what does God have to say about discouragement? Are you a bad Christian if you struggle with depression? Does having anxiety or depression mean that your faith is flawed?
For a long time, mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression have been deeply misunderstood by many people including people within the church. For many of us, there is so much shame associated with depression that we often hide our struggles with mental health.
We keep them hidden from our family, our friends and even from God. In today's episode, I talk about mental health within the Christian community along with my own struggles with depression. I also offer some hope and encouragement for Christians suffering from depression while helping you to understand that God's love covers every suffering we could ever go through and that even in our darkest moments God's promises still ring true. God will never leave you. He will never forsake you, and He will wipe every tear from your eye.

Kathy Carter was born with a severe skin disease called ichthyosis (which occurs in 2 out of a million people). In her life, Kathy has suffered a fair amount of teasing, bullying, and isolation as a result of her disease; not only as a child but as an adult as well.
In today’s episode of the She Is A Message podcast, Kathy opens up about her struggles with intense depression and anxiety and being close to suicidal. She talks about how she found herself far from God and how helpless she felt while looking for happiness in all the wrong places. She also shares how she learned that she was indeed wanted by God and why we should start seeing ourselves through God's eyes.
In this interview, she forces us to ask ourselves the question: "Do you believe God means what He says?" If you do, then there are some amazing lessons that Kathy would like to share with you.

For a long time, I have struggled with the idea that God can use anyone, no matter how broken or damaged they might be to further His kingdom. For years I have struggled with the idea that God could use someone like me?
Can you relate? Have you ever felt like because of your past or present circumstances that it was impossible for you to do anything for God because you aren't perfect and you keep making mistakes every day?
In today's episode of the podcast, I discuss what to do when you feel too broken to be used by God and I also talk about another woman who was an unlikely vessel to be used by God yet He did use her in a mighty, mighty way.

Someone once said, “True courage is being able to smile in the face of adversity while embracing one's own vulnerability.”
Despite being the victim of a horrific automobile accident that changed her life forever, Christine Rucci is determined to stay positive. In today’s episode of the She Is A Message podcast, Christine shows us what it means to face life’s challenges and smile in the midst of it all. Her struggles and successes are all part of her story and she has learned to embrace every single part.
She teaches us that we don’t necessarily smile because of the pain and difficulty that comes from our struggles. We smile because we know that in the midst of every trial God is there and God is in control.

None of us is completely pure. None of us is exempt from the devil's attacks and none of us is able to experience God’s perfect design for our sexuality without His help, His grace, and His mercy. Regardless of our childhood, our culture, our job, our nationality, sexual brokenness is something we all face.
In today's episode, I want to dive into sexual sin. I want to talk about something that many of us struggle with, that many of us have been hurt by and that many of us are too ashamed to talk about. I talk about what it’s like to struggle with sexual brokenness and sexual sin, one of the biggest reasons many of us are sexually broken and the hope that lies ahead for those who want to be free.
This episode of the podcast is for any Christian woman who is struggling with her purity and wants to move forward in grace regardless of her past mistakes and decisions.

Living with purpose. Three words that most Christians hear on an almost daily basis, but not that many actually understand. What does it mean to make the most of today? And are you making the most of the time you have here on earth?
In today's podcast episode, I interview Taya Fisher. She’s a wife, mom to six beautiful children and entrepreneur who currently runs two separate blogs- Because We Have Today and Our Kids Empowered. In her life and marriage, Taya has come face to face with multiple trials and in the midst of these difficulties, the question on her heart hasn’t been “Jesus can you change these things around me?”. The question has always been, “How can I live with purpose because I have today?”
This episode of the podcast is for any Christian woman who is struggling to find the light in the darkness or is unable to see how precious the gift of today truly is.

Do you believe that our most painful storms and our most shameful mistakes can turn into our greatest victories? I do. I believe that as humans, it is our responsibility to grow through what we go through. It is our choice to let the circumstances of our past (or present) destroy us or build us up.
In today's podcast episode, I interviewed Gina Johnson. Gina has faced some of the biggest storms in her life but she refuses to let those storms tear her down. She has overcome sexual assault, multiple divorces, tremendous debt and a heart attack. But in spite of the battles she has faced, she continues to smile, she continues to fight and continues to move forward.
This episode of the podcast has some powerful lessons for the Christian woman who feels like her faith and her resilience is being tested.

So many of us struggle with the idea that God truly can redeem and restore us, and if that's you then be sure to subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an episode!
