This week, we're talking about the Oilers' bounce-back effort in Game 2, what needs to happen in LA, and a whole lot more.

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a look at the series heading back to LA and specifically what the Oilers need to do to come away from Los Angeles with a pair of road wins. Whether it's staying out of the box or playing to the whistle or avoiding costly mistakes, the Oilers have some details in their game that they can clean up and if they do then this series will be theirs. Changing gears, we looked at the officiating during the Oilers vs. Kings and how it's kinda weird that the Kings have been given 10 power play opportunities whereas the Oilers have only earned four. From there, we looked at some of the changes Jay Woodcroft made to his lineups last night and whether or not we like having Kane and RNH flipped on the left side. One guy that isn't having trouble putting points on the board is Leon Draisaitl, who has been the best player in this series by a country mile. Lastly, we wrapped up the Thursday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to make sense of everything that's going on around in.

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a look at how concerned we are about the Oilers dropping Game 1 of their series against the Los Angeles Kings. As you'll hear, none of us on the podcast are overly concerned about the series just yet, but that could very well change depending on what happens tomorrow. Diving into the details of that loss, we looked at some of the numbers that went against the Oilers and contributed to their collapse. Whether it was the needless penalties or questionable choices with the puck, the boys almost beat themselves more so than the Kings were able to beat them. With that out of the way, we changed gears to look ahead at Wednesday and what the boys needed to do to right the ship. From there, we also looked around the league at some of the other series that are happening to discuss some of the big stories that came out on night one of the NHL playoffs.

The Oilers extended their win streak to seven games on Saturday and they'll be looking to keep it going against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Ball Arena, which means we've got plenty to talk about on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio.

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a debate about where we'd like to see the Oilers finish the season and who we'd like to see the boys face in the first round. Seeing as it could be Los Angeles, Seattle, Winnipeg, Vegas, or Nashville, the options are still wide open as to who the Oilers will play in round one. From there we looked at Skyler Brind'Amour announcing this morning that he would not be signing with the Oilers after being drafted in the sixth round back in 2017. From Brind'Amour's perspective, he didn't see a path forward to the NHL with the Oilers organization and that actually makes sense if his dream is to make the show. We then debated how big of a loss this is for the depth chart, but as we've learned over the years, college players can be a little bit of a mixed bag. Lastly, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another riveting round of Word Association that Tyler spent literally seconds putting together.

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a look at who would be the Edmonton Oilers' MVP if we took Connor McDavid out of the equation. Seeing as there are a bunch of guys having great years, the options for who could be named Edmonton's most valuable player are actually pretty varied if you take Connor off the list. Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins hitting the 100-point plateau and how this was a milestone that every single Oilers fan was cheering for and ultimately thrilled to see him get there. Sticking with milestones, we then looked at Connor McDavid being only two points away from hitting 150 points in a single season. And since he's likely to hit that milestone over the next game or two, we spent a few minutes discussing how ridiculous it is that this guy just seems to get better and better by the shift. Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with a look at the Pacific Division standings as they've gotten extremely tight with only a handful of games left to play. While it seems like the Oilers are going to square off against the Kings for a second straight year, that's by no means set in stone and it will be incredibly interesting to see how the standings shape up over the next week or so.

The Oilers won two big games against teams they're chasing, they have a huge run of games on deck, and that means we've got plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. This week, we're talking about Connor McDavid's 300th goal, the wins over Vegas and LA, Stuart Skinner's big night, and a whole lot more.

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a conversation about whether or not the Oilers run with the 11-7 or 12-6 configuration once the playoffs start. While we didn't have a consensus on what Jay Woodcroft should do, the thing we all agreed on is that it's nice to have the option. From there, we looked at the big wins against Vegas and LA from this past week, and how those two regulation victories put the Oilers back in a position to win the division. With only six games left on the season, the race for home-ice advantage is as close as it's been since the start of the season. From there, we looked at Stuart Skinner's incredible performance against the Kings and how his shutout was the first the Oilers have had since Game 7 against LA in the playoffs. Not only was Skinner fantastic between the pipes, but the Oilers did a really nice job of playing a playoff-style game to close out what was a very tight game against a team they're chasing in the Pacific Division standings. Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a look at the remaining schedules for the Oilers, Kings, and Golden Knights to see if we can figure out who has the best opportunity to make a move either up or down in the standings.

The Oilers' win streak ended on Saturday but the boys got back in the win column last night against the Coyotes, and that means we've got plenty to talk about on the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio. 

To kick off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio, we got started with a debate about Darnell Nurse and whether or not he gets a bad rap from some Oilers fans that are hard on the guy based mostly on his contract. Even though Nurse is not without his flaws by any means, none of us think that he's anywhere near as bad as some people like to suggest and actually believe he's one of the team's best defencemen. Changing gears, we looked at last night's win over the Coyotes and how it was an important 'W' for the club after falling to the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday. Even though it wasn't the prettiest win you'll ever see, the Oilers still got the job done and picked up two very important points. That led us into talking about Jack Campbell's night and whether or not he had a solid night or if he was once again lucky that the team in front of him is pumping goals into the back of the net. Next up, we debated whether the Oilers still have a chance to win the Pacific Division or if that ship has sailed. While they're still mathematically in the mix, there's little doubt the boys will need to string some wins together while also getting some luck with the teams they're chasing.

Seeing as Stu is basically saving Edmonton's season, does it not make sense for Skinner to get some love for the Calder based on how this year would be a total disaster without him? Changing gears, we looked back at Wednesday's win over the Coyotes and specifically Connor McDavid's 60th goal that came in overtime on a beautiful pass by Leon Draisaitl. For all of us, having Connor score on a feed from Leon was the way this goal had to come along, and it was incredible to see how those two keep connecting on milestones all over the place. Sticking with McDavid and Draisaitl, we also ran through the NHLPA's player survey that just came out this week and how those two were all over the list when it comes to the league's best. Changing gears, we then looked at the World Cup of Hockey after Connor McDavid talked about how the players have wanted this to happen for years now, but the NHL just can't seem to pull it together. Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ON Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to look at the lighter side of the game.

The Nation's 15th Birthday party is in the books, the Oilers picked up a pair of key wins, and Mattias Ekholm continues to shine, which means we had plenty to talk about on the brand new Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today’s show, we recapped Saturday's party at the Pint Downtown, the wins over Seattle and San Jose, and a whole lot more.

To kick off this week’s Tuesday podcast, we got started with a look at our friends at Oilersnation Germany and what were our favourite memories from the week with our crew from overseas. Whether it was having them meet Leon Draisaitl, the Devin Shore chants, or the energy they brought throughout their trip to Edmonton, the Germans were a bundle of energy that was so nice to have around and we'll miss them greatly until the next time they come to town. From there, we looked at Oilersnation's 15th Birthday which happened at the Pint Downtown on Saturday, and how it was an event that was absolutely incredible to be a part of thanks to the amazing support we get from Nation Citizens. Turning things back to the Oilers, we then talked about the last two wins over Seattle and San Jose and how they weren't the prettiest you'll ever see but you have to appreciate the way the Oilers closed them out anyway. Getting to individual players, we also talked about Jack Campbell's continued struggles, Mattias Ekholm's heater, and how Zach Hyman still can't score without it being challenged. Lastly, we wrapped up the podcast with another riveting Word Association segment that Tyler spent literally seconds putting together.
