More than a year after the Wuhan lockdown that marked the beginning of an unprecedented global fight against the pandemic, the world is still reeling from the hurt and losses caused by the contagious COVID-19 virus. For the first episode of 2021, we invite special guest Hao Wu, a renowned New York-based filmmaker, to chat about his latest work "76 Days" which documents the struggles of the COVID-19 patients and frontline healthcare workers during the first 76 days of the outbreak in Wuhan.
Hao breaks down for us his process of collaborating with his co-directors, piecing together the footage, and editing the clips. He also shares his biggest takeaways from experiencing and documenting the pandemic as a Chinese filmmaker in America.
