Faced with an opportunity to finish off a Toronto Maple Leafs team playing without Auston Matthews, the Boston Bruins were MIA to begin Game 5 and just couldn't get it together in an eventual OT loss.

Jim Montgomery is rightfully facing criticism for a couple lineup changes, but this game was lost because Boston's best players were not very good at all, aside from Jeremy Swayman.

Now, there's renewed hope in Toronto and seeds of doubt planted in Boston, even though the Bruins still have a 75% chance of advancing (per Moneypuck).

The Boston Bruins played a near perfect playoff road game to to a 3-1 series lead over a very flummoxed Toronto Maple Leafs squad on Saturday.

Captain Brad Marchand put in another fantastic performance and took the franchise lead in playoff goals as his team remained calm, poised, and solid throughout. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs grew increasingly frustrated after not being able to crack Boston's defense, leading to some bickering on the bench.

Now, the Bruins can't at all get comfortable after what happened against the Florida Panthers last year. Jeremy Swayman will likely get Game 5, and has been nearly unbeatable.

Auston Matthews left this one with an illness, and the dysfunctional Leafs will be a big storyline heading into Game 5.

All hail the rat king. Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand stepped up HUGE in a 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, helping his team gain a 2-1 series lead in the process.

Marchand scored a pair of goals while getting under Toronto's skin and in the Maple Leafs' heads. The series is far from over, but Marchand was everything you wanted to see from a Bruins' captain in this game.

Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery stuck to his goalie rotation and gave Linus Ullmark the start in Game 2. The reigning Vezina winner was very solid, but very few goalies could have stopped that Auston Matthews gamer winner.
