Last week, we had the chance to interview musicians Ellis Marcel Carter & Rebecca S. Almogela Cabagbag, who go by their artist names as Marcel Garçon (formerly marcel & the vampires) & Becca C., respectively. They recently collaborated to release a new single titled "i'll be the scott to your ramona," featuring vocals from both & production from Marcel Garçon. Unfortunately, Rebecca was unable to join us for an in-person interview, but we do have some words from her!Â
In this episode, we learn about the two upcoming high school seniors and their musical upcomings, from childhood inspirations to their first instruments and school involvement. We explore both artists’ musical processes as well as how they foresee their musical careers to continue. Also, we cover how Marcel Garçon has been doing during the quarantine, talk about his future plans of releasing a mixtape & becoming a musician in Los Angeles, and discuss his pop punk boy band “Extra Credit!” to learn more about their origins, songwriting process, plans for the future, and how they perform.
For anyone with an interest in the world of music creation and performing arts from the perspective of young individuals, or if you would just like to learn more about these artists, this episode is for you.

We had a chat with Andrew Nguyen, who goes by the artist name ninjandru. A soon-to-be senior at Piedmont Hills High School, Andrew is an active photographer and musician. His debut single "same," which is also his most successful song to date, exists as a collaboration with fellow artist vivithot (Viviane Nguyen) that has garnered over 100,000 plays on Spotify.
In this episode, ninjandru begins by introducing himself and his musical beginnings, talking about the various instruments he learned to play and previously making lo-fi hip hop. Then, he describes his musical process and shares the stories behind his previous music releases. Later, he explains his musical and artistic inspirations, how he balances music and schoolwork, the effects quarantine has had on him, and his experience running for ASB Historian at PHHS. He also reveals the equipment and software he uses to produce music, as well as his future plans of performing with a band and releasing an EP. If you're interested in how ninjandru comes up with his musical ideas and his tips for aspiring musicians, or if you just want to learn more about him, then this is the episode for you.

• Thank you for listening!
• What is this? It is a recording of the San Jose based "Bollywood Blues" musician, Aki Kumar, performing live at Independence High School in C-Commons on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
• Why does it start in the middle of the performance? Because I started recording too late. Sorry.
• Why does it sound like it is distorting sometimes? Because I left the microphone volume too high. Oops.
• Why is a bonus like 40 minutes long? Because this is not really a typical GGPP episode where we do fun random things. Those episodes would be Adventure episodes, and they will come out eventually.
• Is this legal? I mean, I'm not making any money from this, and personally I think Aki Kumar would benefit from this (please check him out, his music is pretty good). But I mean I will take this episode down if required by him/his team; I just think that this is a nice, enjoyable performance.
• Why did you decide to post this? Because it has been just sitting on my computer for months, doing nothing useful. Also I wish to inform those that only listen to the podcast and do not keep up with our YouTube or social media accounts (aka my AP chem teacher), that we have very important YouTube videos coming out today, May 1, at 3:00 PM. I personally believe that the first video is my best edited video to date, so make of that what you will. The videos are linked, so please view them. Thank you very much :)
