Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case – the first time in American history that a current or former president has faced criminal charges.
Trump is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
The indictment has been filed under seal and will be announced in the coming days. The charges are not publicly known at this time.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office has been investigating the former president in connection with his alleged role in a hush money payment scheme and cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels that dates to the 2016 presidential election. Grand jury proceedings are secret, but a source familiar with the case told CNN that a witness gave about 30 minutes of testimony before it voted to indict Trump

★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★The 2022 United States elections were a set of elections that were primarily (with the exception of absentee balloting) held on November 8, 2022. During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the U.S. Senate were contested. Thirty-nine state and territorial gubernatorial elections, as well as numerous other state and local elections, were contested. The results will determine the 118th United States Congress. This was the first election affected by the 2022 U.S. redistricting that followed the 2020 U.S. census.[1] A predicted red wave election did not materialize, and the race for U.S. Congress control has been closer than expected.[2][3][4]
While midterm elections often see the incumbent president's party lose a significant number of seats in Congress,[5] preliminary results instead saw Democratic Party candidates dramatically overperform these historical trends.[6][7][8] Meanwhile, Republican Party candidates that were backed by Donald Trump or that denied the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election underperformed compared to election analysts' predictions of a more Republican-leaning national environment and Republican expectations.[1][2] Both general turnout and among young voters (18–29) was the second-highest (after 2018) of any midterm since 1970.[9][10]
Issues that favored Democrats included significant concern over extremism and a lack of respect for democratic norms among Republicans, along with abortion rights and a potential Trump 2024 presidential campaign.[3][4][11] The elections continued trends starting in 2012, in which Republicans made gains among the working-class, especially whites but since 2016 also working-class minorities like Hispanics,[12] while Democrats continued to improve among affluent and college-educated whites.[2]

John Henry Chubb, along with his wife, daughter and eight sons were originally in North Carolina. Kenneth Jones, another descendent of the Chubbtown founders, researched the family’s history and found that the 1830 census listed Chubbs living as free blacks in North Carolina. The Chubbs and other free blacks journeyed to Georgia and settled near a creek in the northwest corner of the state sometime between 1850 and 1864.
According to records of Floyd County, where Chubbtown is located, Henry Chub (spelled with one b), one of the original eight sons, purchased 120 acres for $900 in 1864, before the end of the Civil War.
The settlement grew to include a church, school, post office, meeting hall and a lodge. It also had businesses such as a saw mill, cotton gin, wagon company, blacksmith, grist mill, syrup mill and a company that made caskets. The settlers farmed the land and were self-sufficient.
During the Post-Reconstruction period the Chubb brothers continued purchasing real estate to become the self-sufficient community known as Chubbtown. The Chubb family remained and prospered in Floyd County, Georgia, while many southern blacks were seeking prosperity in the north. The town was spared destruction by the Union Army during the Civil War.[5] The family's prosperity declined after 1916 when a devastating flood destroyed

Why I am running for Idaho House District 22
I am running because I am an everyday Idahoan, born and raised right here. My whole family lives, owns businesses, recreates and gathers here. I teach and own a house in the same neighborhood of Southwest Ada County, Legislative District 22. I love this state and am ready to get to work, giving back to the place and people that have given so much to me.
I love and care about people. As a middle school teacher, I am well versed in leading, meeting people where they are, inspiring self-advocacy, and encouraging everyone to find their voice. My training as a theatre artist has taught me to care about the stories of others, to find a way to relate no matter how different we may be, and present those stories as though they are my own. This is the work of a Legislator.

Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969), was a landmark decision of the United States Supreme Court interpreting the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.[1] The Court held that the government cannot punish inflammatory speech unless that speech is "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action".[2][3]: 702 Specifically, the Court struck down Ohio's criminal syndicalism statute, because that statute broadly prohibited the mere advocacy of violence. In the process, Whitney v. California (1927)[4] was explicitly overruled, and Schenck v. United States (1919),[5] Abrams v. United States (1919),[6] Gitlow v. New York (1925),[7] and Dennis v. A Facebook post shared tens of thousands of times since 2019, and recently viral, claims that in only a decade, Venezuela's once thriving economy was crippled by socialism.
The post, which shows a photo of Venezuela on a map, claims that 60 years ago the South American nation was twice as rich as China and four times as rich as Japan. It says it had the fourth wealthiest economy in the world and the most thriving country in Latin America.
It further claims that Venezuela's currency was the worth the most, second only to the U.S. dollar. It also says it had a thriving health care system.
But all of that was washed away in only a decade due to socialism, the post first shared by Facebook user Katharine Trauger says. She didn't respond to a message seeking comment on where she found her information about Venezuela.

Melanie D’Arrigo is a healthcare advocate, community organizer, non-profit co-founder and mother of three who believes we need new leaders in Washington who will fight for Long Island and Queens families—not become part of the same broken system.
Melanie was born into an impoverished family on the South Shore of Long Island, and raised in a union household by her grandmother. With grit and determination, Melanie beat the odds and was the first in her family to attend college—working numerous jobs while attending Barnard, and graduating with thousands in student loans.
Melanie earned her Masters of Science degree from the School of Health Professions at Long Island University, and has worked as a healthcare advocate and strategist ever since, teaching children, families and organizations how to live healthier lives, prevent serious medical conditions, and save money.
As a mother of three, Melanie knows what it’s like to battle the American healthcare system and the workplace as a new mom. While pregnant, Melanie was passed over for a job after the employer saw she was expecting. And when her son Ryan was born and her husband was laid off, Melanie was put on a payment plan — owing the hospital thousands of dollars for having a baby.

Some facts for the graphs. U.S. gasoline prices jumped from $1.37 to $2.37 per gallon in 2005 as the price of a barrel averaged about $60.In 2008, oil prices rose to as high as $145 per barrel causing a search for alternate sources, and gas at the pump hit as high as $3.90 national average. By 2012, less than half the US oil consumption was imported, which took place under Obama, and in January 2015 decreased to around $50 per barrel gasoline fell to about $2.43 and then to a 20 year low of $2.14 in 2016, and have risen slightly since. After Trump took office in 2017, prices increased slowly, hitting $2.99 in May 2018 against a barrel cost of $74. After a slight dip in 2019, (oil companies made about $55 billion that year) prices fell sharply early in the COVID 19 pandemic, which of course was orchestrated by this podcast and our boss, George Soros, but raised quickly by may and increased steadily since then. When Biden was sworn in, the price per barrel of crude oil was $ 55, and the price at the pump was about $3 per gallon.

Bernie built a coalition with a populist movement centered around workers rights, healthcare, raising the minimum wage and not accepting money from most PACs. The primary turned out to be more competitive than expected, with Clinton winning 55% to Sander’s 43%, and the races early in the primary were much closer, with Sanders leading at times. The Tea Party movement was an American fiscally conservative political movement within the Republican Party. Members of the movement called for lower taxes and for a reduction of the national debt and federal budget deficit through decreased government spending. The movement supported small-government principles and opposed government-sponsored universal healthcare. The Tea Party movement has been described as a popular constitutional movement composed of a mixture of libertarian, right-wing populist, and conservative activism. It has sponsored multiple protests and supported various political candidates since 2009. According to the American Enterprise Institute, various polls in 2013 estimated that slightly over 10 percent of Americans identified as part of the movement

We discuss the book as well as ask our own questions about arguably the most important body in US government.
Get the book here: https://books.google.com/books/about/The_Betrayal.html?id=7qleEAAAQBAJ&source=kp_book_description
In two previous highly regarded books on the U.S. Senate, Ira Shapiro chronicled the institution from its apogee in the 1970s through its decline in the decades since. Now, Shapiro turns his gaze to how the Senate responded to the challenges posed by the Trump administration and its prospects under President Biden. The Founding Fathers gave the US Senate many functions, but it had one fundamental responsibility—its raison d’etre: to provide the check against a dangerous president who threatened our democracy. Two hundred and thirty years later, when Donald Trump, a potential authoritarian, finally reached the White House, the Senate should have served as both America’s first and last lines of defense. Instead, we had the nightmare scenario: today’s Senate, reduced through a long period of decline to a hyper-partisan, gridlocked shadow of its former self, was unable to meet its fundamental responsibility. Shapiro documents the pivotal challenges facing the Senate during the Trump administration, arguing that the body’s failure to provide leadership represents the most catastrophic failure of government in American history. The last section covers the Senate’s performance during President Biden’s first year in office and looks forward to the 2022 Senate elections and beyond.

Abstract on Amber's book, Hiding from Myself
In nearly an instant I had conquered my lifelong insecurities, fears, and demons by facing them with unapologetic authenticity. I was confidently staring down a societal construct that immersed itself in long-held sexual and gender-related mythology and ignorance. Had I finally overcome the mortal heartache of being a person who to me was anything but natural? Or was I about to be sideswiped by more adversity than I could have ever possibly imagined?
This must-read book will help extricate you from your irrational fears and help you uncover the courage and confidence hidden within you to become your best version—unapologetically you. It will help you discover a new understanding of the world, and yourself, all through the lens of one woman’s rebirth into the person she was always meant to be.

Ahead of the release of the “Star Wars” film “Rogue One,” Disney chief executive Bob Iger made an emphatic claim when asked about the movie’s message: “Frankly, this is a film that the world should enjoy. It is not a film that is, in any way, a political film,” he told the Hollywood Reporter, speaking about what was then the latest addition to the sprawling sci-fi saga. “There are no political statements in it, at all.”
Iger was reacting to controversy over (quickly deleted) tweets from two of the film’s writers. Chris Weitz had observed that the series’ Galactic Empire represented “a white supremacist organization.” It was “opposed,” commented his colleague Gary Whitta, “by a multicultural group led by brave women.” Just weeks after the election of President Trump and the culmination of an acrimonious, racially charged political campaign, the film was hailed by some as “anti-Trumpian” — and subject to boycotts by irate members of the alt-right, a coterie of white nationalist who were upset about the film’s supposed liberal bent.

Despite the white supremacist origins, it now includes varying racial ideologies, most commonly white, white identifying Hispanics and Blacks, with the latter often belong to the Black Israelites or the Moorish sects. Many of the beliefs are based on a bogus U.S. history lesson, which goes as follows: Since 1933, the U.S. dollar has been backed not by gold, but by the “full faith and credit” of the Federal government, which has pledged its citizenry as collateral, by selling our future earning capabilities to foreign investors, effectively enslaving all Americans. However, as mentioned earlier, when we are born, there is an account set up for us, called a Treasury Direct Account or TDA. These groups, such as the National Liberty Alliance and the Republic for the United States of America (literally RuSA, ironic, eh) also advocate creating a strawman, which is a second identity that appears to adhere to laws, in contrast with the true self, which doesn’t.

Most PACs represent business, labor or ideological interests. PACs can give $5,000 to a candidate committee per election (primary, general or special). They can also give up to $15,000 annually to any national party committee, and $5,000 annually to any other PAC. PACs may receive up to $5,000 from any one individual, PAC or party committee per calendar year. A PAC must register with the FEC within 10 days of its formation, providing name and address for the PAC, its treasurer and any connected organizations. Affiliated PACs are treated as one donor for the purpose of contribution limits. - Meidas Touch
PACs have been around since 1944, when the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) formed the first one to raise money for the re-election of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The term is used in a variety of different silos, including sociology, famine cycle, game theory, production strategy, and anthropology, among others. For example, in economics, Budget Ratcheting occurs when positive variances in performance, lead to greater absolute changes in the following cycle, when compared to any negative variances in performance. Point is, it’s not a strictly political idea, but this dig will focus on the ratcheting effect noted by the political left. Ratcheting, sometimes called the ratchet effect or ratchet theory in politics is the belief that the Democratic party is, like the Republican party, right wing, at least by global standards, and dampens positive change.
