I want to create a new segment of the show where I include a “listener pick” in every show. I feel like a lot of you have amazing taste in music and I want to hear about your influences as well! That being said…I know it’s hard to reach out and sometimes you’d rather just listen; I get it. Buttttt, I want this show to feel just as much yours as it is mine. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be heading into my 3rd year of doing this podcast in one form of another. It doesn’t have to be an entire list of 5. It can be just one or two (or whatever you want). 

Here’s what you can do. Obviously, I would love it if you called me and left a voice message that I can play on the show. It’s an audio platform at the end of the day and I want people to hear your voice! I also want to hear your voice too…preferably not while you’re driving through rain storm with the top town. This week’s guest is Butch Vig. He needs no introduction, but HERE WE GO. He is one of the most successful producers in rock history - having produced a handful of critically and commercially acclaimed albums such as Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’, both ‘Gish’ and ‘Siamese Dream’ from Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth’s ‘Dirty’, Soul Asylum’s ‘Let Your Big Light Shine’, Foo Fighters’ ‘Wasting Light’, Jimmy Eat World’s ‘Chase This Light’ and the two latest Silversun Pickups records ‘Widow’s Weeds’ and ‘Physical Thrills’. In addition to producing, Butch is one helluva drummer - having played with Spooner, Fire Town, 5 Billion in Diamonds and, of course, Garbage. This was a milestone for both myself and the podcast; I love how it turned out. Butch is a sweetheart of a man and it made me love him and his career even more. This week’s guest is…me! I’ve been getting a lot of questions from new listeners regarding my time in LA and asking for any advice on how to make strides in their drumming career. While I certainly don’t think I’m an authority on that matter, I still welcome these conversations. That being said, I wanted to upload this episode for a good reference as to what I tend to say time and time again. I also acknowledge that my favorite podcasts ARE my favorite podcasts because I feel like I know the host and, while I try to keep these conversations as causal as possible, I don’t really talk about myself and my history too much. Sooo a few months back, I interviewed Ryan Seaman for Big Fat Five, but Ryan has his own show as well on Idobi Radio called ‘Ryan Seaman and Friends’. After our chat for this podcast, I hopped on his show to talk about MY story as a drummer and offer some advice of varying credibility.
