Submit ReviewThe most important story you tell is the one you tell to yourself. That informs the world how they should interact with you. Do you know your story? Are you a victim or a survivor? Which role do you play in your story: a spectator or the shero? The best part of all this, is that you get to decide who you want to be.
Thembe takes us on a journey of understanding the power of storytelling and how you can effectively use it in different spaces.

Whose responsibility is it to EXALT Africa? Who knows its beauty and hidden gems more than us? Who has been witness to the magnificence of an African sunset? And bitten the sweet juicy fruit in season with fervour. We are blessed.
And it's a privilege for someone to come to Africa to experience our way of life. The way of Ubuntu.
Sadly not enough Africans see that we have an el dorado. Instead we choose to MAGNIFY our weaknesses.
Do you know a child embodies poverty of the mind only when you tell them they are poor? What if you told them they are RICH instead and it is their sacred duty to preserve our resources, nature, wildlife, and water bodies. Gift them the Belief of being descendents and children of the mighty land Africa.
Mwai Yeboah talks about how she Exalts Africa through all the work that she does.

Investing in yourself can take different forms. We are mostly familiar with the career path model of personal development. However, I have seen so many people acquire technical skills yet do not advance in their careers or start the business. I believe it's because we need to look at personal development from a wholistic view. The mind, the heart and soul are all connected. Therefore, if there is Dis Ease in one of them, it affects all of them. Whether conscious or unconsciously.

A lot of people associate feminine energy with weakness. Therefore try to distance themselves from femininity. You may feel like being soft will not get what you want or being soft makes you an easy target to be mistreated or physically abused. So we take on more male characteristics and discard the feminine because we feel it does not serve us.
This conversation between Salome and Chulu digs deeper into feminine energy and how it can be of benefit to women in particular.

As we kick off Women's Month we are talking about Single Mums. I am a single mum. my mother was a single mum. I know so many people around me who found themselves being single mums most often unintentionally.
A few years ago it was frowned upon and spoken about in hushed voices. Today there are women who choose to be single mums. However, it came about I think we still do not talk about it enough.
Today I explore the topic with Ngombo and touch a little on post partum depression.

Hi my name is Ngombo aka The Afro Doula. I am a Zambian born woman, a Mother, a daughter, a sister & a wife. I love wild swimming, adventure, sisterhood, preparing and eating delicious food, margarita cocktails, creativity, raving in the house & feeling alive! I am a multifaceted, iridescent being with many layers & many gifts to share! I was called to become a Doula back in 2019 as I was healing from 2 long years of postpartum depression. I knew then that in order for me to thrive the most important thing was to keep a remembrance activated within myself around how incredibly important, powerful and sacred the carrying, birthing, nourishing and nurturing of new life truly is. I also knew then, that the darkness I'd been through could be alchemised into something magical & so I made it my business to help reignite this flame of remembrance in other Mums who were finding Motherhood difficult.
