The exhibition goes beyond celebrating the flash of inspiration and the role of the imagination to examine the artistic process as a sequence of decisions. Working proofs record occurrences both deliberate and serendipitous. They are used to monitor and steer a print's evolution, prompting evaluation and approval, revision, or rejection. Each proof compels a decision: yes, no, maybe.
