Submit ReviewStanford African Historu Professor Joel Cabrita on her new book, WRITTEN OUT: The Silencing of Regina Gelana Twala , chroniclng the life of a prolific writer in the 50s and 60s, the second Black woman to obtain a degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and one of the co-founders of Eswatini’s first political party in 1960. Despite Twala’s significant achievements, her obscurity exists today due to the calculated plagiarizing and silencing of her work by white academics.
