Wrestling coach, professor and English teacher Keith Manos joins Short Time to talk about some of the things he’s learned about coaching over the years and how he crafted them into books to help teachers and coaches alike. A member of the Ohio Wrestling Hall of Fame, Manos’ Wrestling Coach’s Survival Guide has been around for almost 30 years and was even used by John Smith when teaching a course on wrestling. Manos looks back at his time in the classroom and the wrestling room and outlines things that still play today when it comes to being not just a good coach, but a relatable one. He’s big on relationships and we’ll see why.Check out Keith’s books and his background at
KeithManos.com and on Twitter @KeithManos. Check out the GearUP campaign I’ve joined on with in conjunction with Beat The Streets National. Check out how you can help outfit kids by going to
https://www.mattalkonline.com/gearup. Every $50 donated outfits a needy wrestler with $200 worth of gear. Let’s make sure we don’t lose the next Burroughs, Taylor, Maroulis, Gray or Gardner because they can’t afford to get on the mat. This is a partnership between Beat The Streets National, Asics, Gear 2 Compete and Resilite, which has been a longtime supporter of this program and this network.
