 This podcast is the first event in the REEES Fall Series “The Specter in the Present: Trauma and its Legacies in Eurasia”. Guests: Polly Jones is Professor of Russian at University College, University of Oxford. She is the author and editor of numerous books and articles about Soviet cultural history, memory politics and literature, including ‘Myth, Memory, Trauma: Rethinking the Stalinist Past in the Soviet Union, 1953-70‘ and ‘Revolution Rekindled. The Writers and Readers of Late Soviet Biography‘.  Zuzanna Bogumił, PhD, works at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her published works include The Enemy on Display: The Second World War in Eastern European Museums; Gulag Memories: The Rediscovery and Commemoration of Russia’s Repressive Past; and the co-edited volume Memory and Religion from a Post-secular Perspective.
