The New York Yankees have lost eight games in a row for the first time since 1995. The Red Sox swept them, and it was a disaster of a weekend. We discuss all three games and specific performances in them, including Anthony Volpe’s heroics in Sunday’s loss, Gerrit Cole’s uncharacteristically rough outing on Saturday, and Jhony Brito’s performance on Friday. Another unsung Yankee hero, Ian Hamilton, had a good outing in Friday’s loss. Then it’s Minors Monday! The Yankees’ farm system had an amazing week. In fact, it was the opposite of the Yankees. Scranton, Hudson Valley, and Somerset all won series on the road. Somerset set a new runs record in a win over Lehigh Valley, Austin Wells, and Everson Pereira powered Scranton, plus Oswald Peraza made a web gem. Hudson Valley won a series in Brooklyn for the first time and tossed a one-hitter led by Justin Lange, acquired in the Luke Voit trade. Then we discuss if it’s time for the Yankees to give up finally. You know our thoughts on it, but what about the team? Will they ever “admit” it? And how do they do that?
