The Scream at the Screens Hiatus is officially over!!!! The first episode following the move to Blog Talk Radio has arrived and the crew has a whole summer of Movies and TV to cover. As expected the show starts off with TV and Movie news, but with a whole summer to cover, not all of it is recent. Giving the cast a chance to share their joy in the return of MTV classics. Filled with some Gems such as Beavis and Butthead and the ever-confusing Aeon Flux (that is still ridiculously baffling even after 20 years).

In more recent news, American Horror Story returns, and the season 6 story line is locked tighter than a Nuns thighs. There is speculation of a plot similar to Stephen Kings ‘The Mist’ but in all honesty the Trailer plays out like the video from ‘The Ring’ with no rhyme or reason. Does this mean the cast is not excited, hell no! The first episode due September 14^th is eagerly awaited ,along with the most adult animated show ever, South Park.

They move on to discuss the movie franchise that doesn’t seem to die much like the zombies they are based on, “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”. Followed by the happier reveal of another less popular comic series (Justice League Dark) being given a live action movie following the Animated movie release due this fall.

Of course the news of Joe Manganiello as the new Batman villain DeathStroke needs to be covered, even if for just a bit.

Moving on to the movies seen this summer the mood becomes a little less positive as reality did not meet expectations. “X-Men: Apocalypse” was a disheartening mix of highs and lows while “Finding Dory” was lacking heart.

“Independence Day: Resurgence” proves to be in line with the original, serving up action and cheesy lines along with plot holes big enough to hide shitty directors bodies in (I’m talking to you M.Knight, why “The Last Airbender”? Why?!)

“Secret Life of Pets” turned out to be nothing more than a new TV series someone thought could be movie.

However, some movies that by most accounts were expected to bomb were pleasant surprises:

“Ghostbusters” had managed to bring the laughs with a strong start and great cast and despite the Scooby Doo feel of the ending it didn’t detract from the movie as a whole.

“Lights Out” brought the scares on strong enough to ignore its use of horror movie clichés.

“Suicide Squad” better know as “Harley Quinn and Deadshot Team Up With Other Guys To Fight A Creepy Hot Chick” was not horrible and the action and comedy made it not a complete disappointment.

The most positive reviews are left with “Kubo” and “War Dogs”. Tiffany gushes over her favorite style of animation while Ricardo compares “War Dogs” to a mix of “War Lord” meets “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

The Show is rounded off with a new segment called “Is It worth The Hype?” where the panel gives their opinion on so-called “Addictive” shows.

For this episode the show is “Stranger Things”, which if you haven’t seen it, do so. It’s a mix of “X-Files” meets “Goonies” giving you mystery, horror and a cast you grow to love. Plus the flashback to the good old days of Stephen King style horror is nostalgic.

Next weeks’ episode is to be a bit of a flashback within a flashback, as the panel is set to debate their favorite Historical Action Movie. This includes Movies such as Braveheart, 300, Gladiator…etc. Sure to be a fun session of ‘my half naked warrior is better than your half naked warrior’, or something along those lines.
