How have families both in the U.S. and elsewhere evolved and changed over the years. especially in the last few decades. And what implications does that have on your work, relationships, living arrangements, marriage, etc.?

In Part 1 of this two-episode Looking ForwardTM series, we'll discuss these topics with my guest expert, Dr. Bahira Trask. In Part 2, Dr. Trask and I will discuss what impact COVID-19 is having on families, what changes she foresees in families over the next several years, and what opportunities that might suggest for those in the know... such as you, our Looking Forward readers and listeners.

Dr. Bahira Trask is an expert on family trends. She is Professor and Chair of Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Delaware. Dr. Trask holds a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on globalization and family change in Western and non-Western countries, and she presents regularly on these topics at international forums including at the United Nations.  Dr. Trask has authored and edited a number of books including Women, Work, and Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities(Routledge, 2014), Globalization and Families: Accelerated Systemic Social Change, (Springer, 2010) and Cultural Diversity and Families (Sage, 2007).
