The National Library of Australia has tapped into the handmade revolution. While digitising newspapers over a decade ago, they came to learn that vintage knitting patterns were among the most popular online searches. The result is Vintage Knits, published by The National Library of Australia, featuring 25 knitting patterns from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Kathryn Favelle, Director of Reader Services at the National Library, shares the work of an intimate chain of knitters, who were part of adapting the vintage patterns for today.
