There's growing unrest on Labor's backbench over the federal government's newly unveiled gas strategy, with MPs saying they're frustrated and even "blindsided" by the announcement.

The plan would see new gas fields opened up to boost exports to Asia, and gas making up a larger share of our own energy mix while we transition to renewable energy. Labor MP Josh Burns is one of the MPs who has raised concerns over the plan, he says he "didn't get into politics to be a support mechanism for the fossil fuel industry" and he's not here to be a "rubber stamp."

Guest:Josh Burns, Labor MP
