Today’s reading is from the book of James, chapter 1, verses 16 through 18. As we hear it together, can I listen for what the Holy Spirit might have to say to me about goodness? Are there any words or phrases that I want to spend some time with today? 16 My dear siblings, don’t let anyone fool you. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from God. This kind of gift comes down from the Father who created the heavenly lights. These lights create shadows that move. But the Father does not change like these shadows. 18 God chose to give us new birth through the message of truth. He wanted us to be the first harvest of his new creation.  Loving God, help us to wait for your goodness to grow in us. Help us to taste your goodness, and to always want more. And help us see your goodness all around us, because you never change. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
