The New York Yankees dropped a tough one in extra innings, 1-0, to the Mariners to finish the series taking two out of three in the Emerald City. It was a game full of good pitching and defensive gems. Clarke Schmidt had his sharpest outing of the season, and he’s done well in his last three starts. The Yankees offense, which had exploded for 30 runs in its previous three games, was shut down by George Kirby for eight innings and only had three hits the entire game. They loaded the bases in the top of the 10th but couldn’t push a run across, and Cal Raleigh ended it in the bottom of the 10th with an RBI single. Stacey and Steve take a look around the toughest division in baseball, the AL East, and wonder if the division is still in play for the Yankees. Then they award their Yankees players of the month.
