Kathleen Schleicher, better known as Kathy, grew up in both a Los Angeles suburb and later, a beach town 60 miles south of California’s most popular city. She was the youngest of the four children born to her parents and the only girl. Her childhood was normal; in junior high and high school, Kathy was athletic and became somewhat fashion obsessed, something that eventually landed her in the glitz and glamour of LA. There, she met someone, got married, became Kathy Suckley, and had two boys of her own before ending up in Corpus Christi, Texas, where her new husband’s family lived. After things between the couple soured, and after splitting up, Kathy struggled a bit to raise her boys on her own but was making it happen. In 1993, after living in Corpus Christi less than a year, the unthinkable happened. Kathy was murdered in her own apartment.
