Submit ReviewIt’s a New Year, so what better time than now to create a new routine! Ashley Brown is a routine expert, founder of Routine & Things, podcaster, and mom of two girls. She helps women create routines in their lives that help them have more time, more peace, and get more done! We are talking about the most popular routines women come to Ashley for help on, why routines are important, and how you’re going to benefit from implementing them into your life.
Let's create some new routines!
Ashley is passionate about teaching and is a nurse educator. After the birth of her first daughter, she reduced her work schedule to become a stay-at-home mom and found the transition to be a rough one. Ashley quickly discovered that being a full-time mom wasn’t as easy as she had hoped and that the tasks were endless. She also found that she missed work. Finding herself depressed and like she couldn’t keep things together in her home led her to combine her love of teaching and establishing routines to launch her business Routine & Things.
You can create routines for yourself by determining what’s of most importance to you. The goal is to create a routine that aligns with your intentions. Start by challenging yourself to think about what your values are. Consider what you are valuing in this season, at this moment?
Ashley shares with us the five routine categories that she uses as a starting point. Pick one category that you can create a routine from. Then think about what type of routine you can create in that category.
The five categories can be great for you because these are areas of your life that represent a daily or weekly routine that keeps you focused, and your home and life will run more smoothly. Routines offer us stability, predictability, and structure to our lives. Remember to start small so that you don’t overwhelm yourself.
Only you have the power to change your routine to one that feels good and gives you more time in your day to make life manageable and, more importantly, enjoyable. Consider when you can make the time to do the routine consistently.
If you feel challenged to find time in your day, do a time inventory of your standard day. You will find blocks of time that you can use to develop a plan and create routines. Shifting your mindset to create the time you need will help you get more time for yourself. Ashley is a big fan of outsourcing and how it can give you back more time.
What are your routine best practices?
