On the previous episode, Dan and Mark discussed the drama behind the bungled initial reveal of the Hobgoblin’s identity.
But, every story needs a good ending. Not content to let Ned Leeds be blamed for the crimes of the Hobgoblin, writer Roger Stern came back almost a decade later to right the wrongs of his predecessors. So, teaming up with Ron Frenz, he was allowed to release “Hobgoblin Lives” and to finally give the character the ending he had planned from the very beginning.
If you want to follow along with us on our journey through the second Hobgoblin identity reveal, we will be discussing events of Amazing Spider-Man #312, Spectacular Spider-Man #147, Hobgoblin Lives #1-3, and Spectacular Spider-Man #259-261, “Goblins at the Gate”.
