On today's Locked On Giants podcast, host Ben Kaspick talks about the ramifications of the Giants getting swept by the Dodgers in this two-game series. The Giants held the Dodgers to six runs in two games, but Dodgers pitching was better. San Francisco couldn't get a big hit with runners on base. Despite the losses, the Giants have an 8.5-game lead on a playoff spot. Before the game, Thairo Estrada was recalled from Triple-A and Mauricio Dubón was optioned for the first time since joining the team in 2019. Dubón had struggled mightily this year, and Estrada was tearing it up in Sacramento.

Mike Tauchman injured his knee while making a fabulous catch in the outfield. After striking out in eight straight plate appearances, he has reached base in four of his last five dating back to his extra-inning home run in Anaheim. He's been a man of extremes this season, playing elite defense and having superb discipline, but his bat has been ice cold for the most part. Hopefully his knee is okay, because it seemed like he was starting to break through offensively.
