Submit ReviewMost Shat The Movies features can be summed up as “great ideas gone wrong,” but what about a terrible idea gone right? On paper, 1993’s “The Fugitive” sounds ridiculous: A vascular surgeon is sentenced to death but escapes to find his wife’s one-armed killer while diving, punching, and spying his way to freedom.
But sometimes charm, practical effects, a clever script, and non-stop thrills come together to make movie magic. This episode, the Shat Crew had to ask itself, “Were Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones really that good? Was the dam scene that exciting? Was Julianne Moore really in this movie?” Or were we all fooled by childhood excitement and nostalgia?
Big D explores justice versus vengeance. Ash recalls the psychological scars left by the opening murder. And Gene once again asks why the movie’s smart guy isn’t smarter.
