Elisa Lam was a Canadian student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances while staying at the infamous Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. When LAPD released the last known video footage of Elisa, the often discussed elevator video, Elisa's disappearance became one of the world's highest profile cases.
