Jake Burger and Danny Mendick of the Chicago White Sox have been getting opportunities as of of late due to injuries and they made the most of those opportunities this past weekend in Tamp Bay. Both Burger and Mendick, along with Andrew Vaughn, provided an offensive spark against the Rays that helped the White Sox take 2 of 3 games. It was not necessarily pretty but the White Sox got the job done. White Sox starter, Lucas Giolito, was on cruise control until he ran into some problems in the 6th inning of Sunday's series finale. Sox defense did not help matters but relievers Aaron Bummer, Kendall Graveman and Liam Hendriks locked down the win. The Chicago White Sox are two games under .500, chasing the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins in the AL Central.
