On the 8th of June, 2019, the UFC put on their UFC 238 PPV (Pay-Per-View) event brought to us from Chicago, Illinois through ESPN+ at 10PM/7PM ETPT. The main event featured a Bantamweight title fight between Flyweight champion, Henry “The Messenger” Cejudo, against contender, “Magic” Marlon Moraes, for the vacant UFC Bantamweight belt. UFC 238’s co-main event also had a belt on the line — UFC women’s Flyweight champion, Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko, put her strap on the line against Jessica “Evil” Eye. Henry ‘The Messenger’ Cejudo, the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling, battled for the vacant Bantamweight Title with a 14-2-0 record, on a four-fight winning streak. His last victory was against T.J. Dillashaw, who he notoriously defeated in the main event via KO/TKO-Punches at 0:32 seconds into Round 1 at UFC on ESPN+ 1, back in January. Tapology.com had him ranked as the #1 MMA Fighter of the year and #2 Current Best MMA Fighter in his division heading into this Main Event Title Fight. Meanwhile, Title Contender Marlon ‘Magic’ Moraes, came into this bantamweight war with a longer 22-5-1 professional record, also on a four-fight winning streak. His most recent victory being a main event win via Guillotine Choke at 3:17 in Round 1 against Raphael Assunção at UFC on ESPN+ 2, back in February. Moraes was listed via Tapology.com as the #1 Current Best MMA Bantamweight Fighter heading into the event.
