Originally intended to be a theatrical release in the United States, Soul was released to stream on Disney+ on Christmas Day and was theatrically released in countries without the streaming service. Directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Kemp Powers, Soul is the computer-animated fantasy comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Joe Garnder (Jamie Foxx) is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz – and he’s good. But when he accidentally travels to the “Great Beyond” just before his big gig, Joe seeks to reunite his soul and his body after they were separated. Ending up in the “Great Before”, Joe must help an unborn soul (Tina Fey) find their passion, whilst also discovering what it means to have a soul.
