Submit ReviewMandy and Kate chat with the wonderful Pea Saunders, president of the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia, Mornington Peninsula branch.
The Disabled Surfers Association aims to ‘put smiles on dials’ by taking people with all types of disabilities surfing in a fun, friendly and safe environment. The Association has branches across Australia and runs numerous surfing events across the summer months.
You don’t need to be a surfer to volunteer, and Pea herself doesn’t have a surfing background at all. She became involved following a long history of working with people with disabilities in her UK homeland, before moving to Australia with her partner and kids at age 40.
Peas, if you’re looking for a place to volunteer, or donate some spare cash to, or know someone who might be interested in supporting the Disabled Surfers Assocation, please share this episode with them! You can also check out their YouTube channel and website for more info
