Only a matter of weeks ago, many across the country believed that it could be Autumn at the earliest, before the prospect of any recreational travel would be feasible. Like many aspects of this health crisis, things move quickly and as has Ireland successfully contained the spread of Covid - 19 within the community reducing its R Number in the process, the feasibility of both domestic and international holidaymaking has  increased dramatically.

As the country heads into the  final weekend of Phase 2,  host Ian Doyle touch chats with John Burke, MD of The Armada hotel in Co. Clare to discuss what a staycation could look like for those lucky enough to get a break from the reality of “a new normal”, this summer.  John is not only a leading hotelier, but also a world class adventurer having reached the summer of Mt Everest in 2017. Overcoming adversity is something he revels in, in the chat lets us know how they adapted to keep the business afloat, over the past 3 months since lockdown began.
