Special Report Episode 59 - Covid Coffee Chronicles We take a break from the Pacific Coast Highway this week, due to Covid 19. We, like many Americans have had to change course, and are now practicing social distancing. We have developed a series of special episodes focusing on the pandemic, and its impact on small businesses, and communities in need. We are interviewing(by phone)owners, and previous guests to get the story with what is going on with them right now. Although we can no longer travel, we still get their perspective on what this new reality looks like, in their community. Our conversation centered around “appropriate” health care, staffing for two seperate businesses, and how thinking outside the box may help a business survive. When Keagen became critically ill, how many emergency rooms did he have to be taken to in one day to receive the care he needed? How does healthcare differ in rural areas vs urban cities? While being quarantined for 14 days Falon defined their new quality time together, with no internet what filled their days? After re-tooling their business and creating a more user friendly website for customers, will this become another new normal for independent coffee shops in the future?
