Suns Mode returns for yet another week, and while we may be in double offseason mode (meaning both the Phoenix Suns AND Phoenix Mercury will not be playing basketball for another several weeks) I still believe this episode of Suns Mode is stacked full of important content. First, I am calling two events to your attention. If you have the time, watch both WNBA Playoff Semifinal series and watch Serena Williams play her final major tennis matches at the US Open. Women in sports deserve the spotlight, and we have done a solid job tuning in. Serena Williams, and the many great WNBA players still playing have done so much for the present and future for women in sports. We live for these moments of greatness. Lets enjoy an amazing WNBA Playoffs, and send Serena out of her game knowing that she is queen. After that, I provide the normal update on both the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury

But the following part of the episode is why I feel so great about this week's Suns Mode. This week, the final 20-ish minutes are dedicated to a conversation on Valley Excellence, which is a term I created when I started this podcast. I say it every week, but it has been many months since I have talked about Valley Excellence for real. My mission is to define for you all WHAT Valley Excellence is as well as WHO personifies it. The most important thing for you to understand is that everyone is capable of performing at #ValleyExcellence, and that only you can decide what Valley Excellence actually means to you. Me saying the words can only mean so much. You attach actions and character to Valley Excellence, you have your own definition.
