Wednesday's game featured two moments where Russell Westbrook's destructive attitude was, at least in theory, on display. Twice he seemed either to ignore or try and separate himself from teammates, indicating that he's a toxic influence destined to sink the season for the Lakers. Except as it turns out, both moments had perfectly reasonable explanations, fairly well confirmed by available evidence. First, he appeared to be communicating with the bench while Patrick Beverley was waving teammates together. And Westbrook has moved away from the team huddle after pregame introductions for years.

So the latter was the norm, and the former doesn't seem like a particularly big deal.

All of it, though, reminds people that when it comes to Westbrook, many (many, many) fans are ready to vent some serious anger about his play, the trade, management and everything else connected to the deal.

Anthony Davis, meanwhile, said he's ready to start at center if that's what the team needs to win, but he's not necessarily clamoring for it. It's clear he still prefers more minutes at power forward. Why, though? Some theories...

Finally, Jeanie Buss was a guest with Rich Eisen earlier this week, and made headlines for suggesting that sexism was the foundation for all the questions about her inner circle, and who is in it. Do Mark Cuban and Joe Lacob get asked that question? It just seems to be her inner circle people seem obsessed with, Buss said. Eisen respecfully pushed back, as he should have. Because while Buss unquestionably has dealt/still deals with sexism in her role as governor of the team, this line of questioning is a bad example of it. We explain...
