Fresh from producing his latest pre-season audio diary, we've got our Everton FC correspondent Phil Kirkbride on the line from the sun-kissed Alps for the week's first Royal Blue podcast, hosted by Dave Prentice and also featuring Adam Jones and Gavin Buckland back at the ECHO studio. Understandably, Prenno kick things off by getting Phil's verdict on the Blues' latest summer signing, Fabian Delph, followed by those of Adam, who is a paid-up member of the Delph fan club, and Gav, who is getting there. Prenno then asks Phil whether the arrival of the Manchester City midfielder means Idrissa Gueye is on his way, about the mood and focus in the Everton camp in Switzerland, and some interesting comments from Jonas Lossl. After we leave Phil, talk turns to modern pre-season schedules, which allows Prenno to recall some brilliant Blues stories from summers past, the departure of Antonee Robinson, and the prospects for some of the club's other academy graduates. Also on the agenda is a new position for Tom Davies and, of course, more transfers, and why Diego Costa should not be an option, and how everyone would feel if Dominic Calvert-Lewin started the season as Everton's first-choice forward.
