Recent police killings of young Black and Latino men coupled with the looming verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial have America on edge. Thousands of protesters have taken to city streets in the past week.

On this episode, we’re bringing you the perspectives of people on the ground. You’ll hear from protesters in Minneapolis and Chicago, and reporters covering demonstrations and the Chauvin trial — including extended cuts of interviews you may have already heard on the show.

Criminal justice reporter Eric Ferkenhoff and breaking news reporters Grace Hauck and Christine Fernando bring us news from Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and Chicago. In Minneapolis, national correspondent Tami Abdollah has been covering the Derek Chauvin trial since it began in early March.
