Way back in the early 2000s, my girlfriend and I went to get my very first body piercing at Montreal’s premiere body piercing studio, the still-legendary Black Sun. This highly professional studio was really like a calm juxtaposition between medical clinic and meditation spa. The music, the exotic fish aquariums, the high quality jewellery, the huge needles and medical chairs — it’s hard to explain. We’ll talk about this and body modification.

It was Pierre Black, from which the shop got its namesake, who set a new bar for quality here in Montreal and perhaps across North America and I’m glad I got to be pierced by him several times.

Pierre has since closed Black Sun, and has gone into natural healing, coaching and meditation after having studied under a Buddhist priest in a Japanese temple. We’ll talk about that along with some profound truthes we’ve both found over the last two decades or so since he was pushing a needly through my scrotum.

Speaking of scrotums, we’ll also talk about cephalopod loincloths, saline solution injection into foreheads and breasts, extreme blood letting, the chopping off of fingers as art projects, and Pierre’s near death by blood letting while asleep — You may all remember I’m really afraid of blood, so this ought to be interesting.
