Cincinnati Bengals Assistant head coach / Special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham presented by First Star Logistics to talk Bengals special teams as the countdown has begun to the opening of training camp as the Bengals look to win another AFC North title and play for a chance to advance to another Super Bowl.
Over the past several seasons, Simmons didn't have to think much about who would be punting for the Bengals. However, Kevin Huber will have a true challenger in camp in another local Cincinnati kid, Drue Chrisman, who prepped at La Salle High School before a standout career at Ohio State.
Also discussed was the success of Evan McPherson and what fans should expect from the standout kicker in his second season and several other Bengals who played critical roles on special teams a year ago.
